Has anyone tried Anthony Logistics shave products?

Never tried their products with a DE but they work ok with a cartridge. Way overpriced though for bottled goo instead of canned goo.

Thanks for that. I received some soap samples from AL that I liked was tempted by their shave products. I ended up ordering wheat shave cream and aftershve milk from TSD.

Your better off ordering here. Didn't know AL had pucks, all I've seen is oil and tube cream.

It was tube stuff I was looking at. I prefer creams over soaps. Been wanting to try a rose scent too. I ordered the damascus rose.

I have Anthony Logistics After Shave Balm. It's nice stuff but is a bit pricey. It's got an initial sting on a newly shaved face which I like. It's very moisturizing and leaves your face nice and smooth. It's a bit heavy for hot weather and nice for winter. A similar one that I like better is the Lab Series 3-1 after shave. That's really nice stuff with similar attributes, minus the sting.

I have a tube of the Anthony Logistics for Men unscented. It actually has a peppermint scent, because peppermint is in it. I liked it very much for DE shaving, definently better than Neutrogena's shave cream, Kiehl's (at least their "white eagle") and of course the canned foams and foaming gels.

I can't recall performing a straight razor shave with it. I tried it once with Kiehl's, and didn't like it. I was experimenting with the longevity of using a single straight-edge repeatedly without abrasive pastes or honing, and it was fairly early on in my major immersion into straight razor shaving, so I don't know. I've been experimenting with professionally honed and my own razor finished on a chromium oxide pasted strop. Trying to see the difference between razors finished on my last (finishing) hone and chromium and professionally honed razors, which are undoubtedly beyond the chromium.

My appreciation for at least the difference between my own (up to chromium grit level) and professional is clear enough that I would feel comfortable giving the Kiehl's and the Anthony brushless shave creams another go with an open razor. I've been thinking about it... think I will.

As for DE shaving yeah, if you like it, go for it. I personally think if you're going for a tube of cream that good old Proraso is a better deal, you can find it for 10 bucks, maybe even less if on-line, and it can be used with a brush. The scent is stronger, which is a plus for me. proraso: 5.2oz., anthony: 6oz.

Bed Bath & Beyond has them on sales when you can buy one and get 10 dollars off, from a previous purchase. That's a buy one get one free deal, given that they cost 10 dollars since last I checked. Five bucks a tube, how can you argue with that? I use a small Tweezerman and get enough passes from a third to a quarter of a large almond, with thick, generous lather. From standard mall stores I've seen Kiehl's and Anthony for fifteen dollars a tube. I haven't found brushless to require less cream than a lathering cream.

I was going to buy the AL shave set for 50$. It came with facial cleanser, pre-shave oil, cream and balm. Not too bad of a price considering that it comes with full size containers. Still keeping it on my wish list along with several others. But I do need another brush and razor too.

Used the Anthony Logistics unscented shave cream today for a straight razor shave, last shave with the razor before refreshing on the chromium oxide paste so it was a good time to test this shave cream. It goes on easy, works well with the water on the face, must use more than what proraso's longevity affords. A few re-applications during a straight-razor shave, no big deal as it washes off the hands well (no hand soap needed). It provided satisfactory glide, can't say much about the cushion/protection as I have less skill at judging that. I got a smooth shave, no skittering, stopping or excessive cuts or nicks. It works fine. I do like Avalon Organics peppermint shave cream more, it comes in an 8 ounce tube, as opposed to 6 oz., provides moisturization, requires less re-applications and overall I think it's superior, I got mine at Whole Foods for about six bucks, compared to Macy's in-store price for Anthony of $15. But Anthony gives some white, which allows you to keep track of what terrain you've razed.

I'm sorry, I should have done my "research" before I posted about Anthony Logistics shave cream. I put a dollop into my lathering bowl and swirled around with the brush and voila... it does lather up nice, thick and creamy and, like Proraso/C.O. Bigelow, it only improves with lathering. Sorry for the incompetency. And it delivered a fine shave, good enough for a straight razor shave.

I have a few of the trial sets that contain shave cream in a tube, after shave lotion, and shave oil. Has worked great for me. Still have some in reserve for when the rest of my supplies run out, which may be a few years. have not used it for a while but seems like it did not work well with a brush for me. However it did provide wonderful shaves with a DE. Also bought several tubes of the shave cream on ebay. so have a good supply at this time.

    I'm liking the AL

Been using the AL shave gel for a while now and enjoy using it, especially the peppermint zinginess. Using it with a Futur/Feather combination set on 3. 2 passes. I learned that the gel requires quite a bit of water and repays a relatively long period of massaging in to the beard (with hands - I don't have a brush).

My current regimen is a wash with AL face wash, and then apply the shave cream. Post shave, Korres Marigold & Gingseng aftershave balm and Korres Ruscus & Chestnut moisturiser. I have tried the Korres Absinthe shave cream in the past but found that it dried on the face too quickly. For the odd knicks the Proraso knick gel really works well - much better than a stiptic pencil.

Something I haven't seen discussed on TSD is exfoliating, which I include twice a week and it really gets rid of shaving rash and bumps.

Anyway, all the above effort gets the thumbs up from SWMBO and gets my face entry into areas which it would otherwise be barred from ;)
