So after an incredible amount of research I pulled the trigger and ordered the famous EJ DE89l from QED. I didn't spend as many hours researching my home or truck as I have this razor, since I couldn't find one thread or post that said stay away from this razor I rolled the dice. Now I just recently bought from shoebox the Lord Premium Long Handled Tech, wchich looks great but unfortunately doesn't work for my face. I tried 3 different blades 3 creams and a soap with it but it irritates my face.

89l is the only one I use and have. I have tried the merkur futur and a weishi, got rid on them.

The Weishi (chrome) was the first and only DE I purchased. I loved it, still do. Unaggressive and easiest to open of the three I have. What didn't you like about it, Mynorx?

it shaved fine, but the plating started to come off after 4 shaves, after about 2 months of use it looked horrible. the plating had come off and the metal smelled. I paid more than 23 dollars for it including shipping from ebay. I just think the materials quality is horrible, the ej 89l is only 34 dollars and that thing looks like it will last years. the futur I had a prob with the blade gap horrible product for the price.

I've been looking at this for my first razor.
What is the diffrence between the EJ89 vs EJ89L?

If the old grey matter serves me correctly, I do believe the "L" stands for "Lined"

The EJ89L will have a chrome handle with lines running the length of the handle, were as the EJ89 can be had in black, white, or non-lined chrome handles.
