I've been John Wayning an absolutely horrendous tooth ache for about a week now and I'm calling UNCLE! I never thought I'd look forward to a dentist visit but I really am. Tomorrow morning I'm getting the hurtin bugger taken care of. Fortunately my toothache hasn't ruined my shaves or my pipe smoking though. I think I've gotten about 2 hours of sleep all week and everything from my shoulder blades up is one big throbbing pain.
At the moment my agenda for tomorrow goes like this 0800-0900 wake up and shave 0901-0945 eat breakfast 1000-1100 have offending tooth removed 1101-???? Spend the balance of the day in barley and hops therapy.
Hey Bro, glad to see you back! I have been getting a lot of dental work done lately and I have to say, that if it were not for sedation dentistry, I would be spending 24/7 in barley and hops therapy!
Godspeed with your oral abomination:sick007... makes me think of the movie Marathon Man. If I were still a drinking man, I'd move straight into a post-op single malt:: I'll keep you in my prayers and be thinking about you, as we will both be hearing reveille at the same time- but wait... I'm in CA, so that means... yes, 0500 roll-out for the SD. Gotta run- they're sounding taps!:sleep001
Hey Brother, hope it goes quickly for you. Malt, as in single blend would be a tad more therapeutic than the libations mixed with barley IMHO. That's if you can stand the taste. The first and only time I sipped a Scotch was brief and left me looking for any dog to get the taste out of my mouth. But, under the circumstances, it would be worth it. I have been lucky as far as dental pain goes, but have paid the price with back pain. I have a buddy that has had both and he tells me that he can't determine which is worse, back pain or dental pain. I do know the meds for back pain can surely make you smile like the Cheshire cat. Feel better my friend. Dan
Man...Never thought it was possible for somebody to crack me up, talking about back-pain...but Dan....You killin' me...LMAO... To OldGI : Best of luck and hope you're feeling better soon, my friend....looking forward to seeing you back to your usual self....Pain's a Major DRAG no matter how you look at it...
I just hope GI remembers the affect novacaine has. I can imagine SWMBO walking in to his den and see him drooling like a 2 year old while he's trying to down his Colorado kool aid.
The desired effect was NOT reached. He asked if I'd taken any medication and I confessed I had been eating Excedrin like M&M's all week. Since these are aspirin and as such a blood thinner, he declined to pull my tooth today. He said I'd bleed out something fierce if he tried. So, my tooth still hurts but he put me on antibiotics and wrote me a prescription for Vicodin. I guess I have to John Wayne it for another week or so.
Once the infection leaves, then you'll have no more pain and probably wait until it hurts like a bugger again B4 going again. Nah, you're smarter than that.
Get that taken care of ASAP Bro1 I had a painful tooth for 6 months and ended up losing the tooth, and part of my upper palate because the infection dissolved the bone!
I wondered why you were so quiet the last few days. Sounds like you need to get that thing out of there ASAP! :sad024 You won't notice a thing with the Vicodin in your system and the week should go pretty fast. I am on the side of a good Scotch like Famous Grouse or Michael Collins for the recovery theropy but LMMV. Take care GI and get this thing behind ya!
Vicodin, which is hydrocodone and acetaminophen, can lead to liver damage when taken with alcohol. One should be warned when doing this. Further, antibiotics, which are broken down by the liver, put an extra load of work on the liver. Antibiotics + Vicodin + Alcohol = Trouble Best to wait until the medication regimen has ended.
