Has anyone ever used the shaving soaps from the store lush?

They do natural hand made soaps that are organic or vegan. One of those new stores that charge crazy prices for simple things.

Here's the link. I can only find shave creams on their US site. And those are most definitely not organic. Loaded with various Parabens, among other stuff..... And yes, they charge a lot of dosh for their product. Don't think any of their products will make its way into my Den.

They actually aren't a very new company, maybe a few new stores have opened though. : D They try to be as "homemade/organic/vegan" as possible, there are always exceptions.

I don't think it's made for shaving but I've used some of their jellies...they've recently reformulated them and are listing them as "soaps" now. I haven't bought any recently so I don't know if it changed lather-wise. I did love "A Ring of Roses" and it doesn't lather well but it's slick and was great on my legs. I love the really light not-super-girly smell of rose too.

I had a friend bring me some from a trip. It lathers, but the bubbles don't stick around too long and dry out. I don't care for the parabens either.

Aren't the parabens in the few products they have from blueberries?

The parabens are in a lot of their products including the blueberries.

My normal source for shave soap closed so I stopped in there today to see if they had anything I could use. I didn't like the look of the creams they had (or the parabens) but while talking to the ladies who worked there they recommended their Alkmaar body soap and gave me a free sample. ITS AMAZING. I just had my first shave ever without a cut using a Feather blade a few minutes ago! It seems a little soft, so it probably won't last as long as the C Crabtree and Evelyn soap I had been using, or one of Joanna's, but I definitely recommend going in and trying out a free sample! It didn't lather a great deal, but it lathered enough and protected my face unbelievably. It smells pretty good and my skin feels nice and soft.

    re: Poor quality lather...

I think the problem with a *lot* (but not ALL) products marketed to the "vegan/organic/natural" community is that the emphasis is on "Ohh, look at us, we are vegan or organic, or natural etc, and NOT on product quality.

I prefer to try to take the natural or less-chemically laden route with products, but with the exception of hydrogenated oils & parabens, I'm not totally fanatical about it. (although any emphasis on vegan, and I'll go looking elsewhere... It's OK if they mention vegan in smaller print, but if the company's emphasis is on vegan, I just refuse to support them, for my own moral reasons.)

I have found some good, decent products out there, such as laundry detergent, but I had to go through some pretty awful laundry products in the process. (In case anyone is looking, 7th Generation & ECOS are both decent laundry products not using petroleum detergents, but the nod has to go to 7th Generation for quality, however because it's more marketed through the "health food chains" it's more expensive... Saw ECOS in Walmart of all places... and CHEAP.)
