Those do not seem like they would offer enough protection from rock or other debris. I like my toes to be protected.

they offer plenty of protection. you can feel almost everything you walk on, but it doesn't hurt, it's great!

that said, they're not for everyone. If you like to go barefoot, they're great.
If you prefer your foot completely covered and the feeling of security in a shoe, you probably won't like them.

Unfortunately I couldn't get my pair to fit. I sent them back and got a size up, no luck. One foot is bigger than the other and it just doesn't work. Too bad. I finally sent them back and got a refund. Might try again at the store in town sometime.

yeah, there's several scenarios they list on their website that say the shoes may not work for you: flat feet, 2nd toe longer than first tow, webbed toes, and one foot significantly longer than another are the ones I recall.

so far, the list of people in my town that are overwhelmingly intrigued and interested grew by two more tonight: my pastor and his wife!
my wife cracked up laughing when I told her :happy097

I saw a picture of these things there shoes that look like feet with toes, right.
I hate flip-flops also and I was always a barefoot boy but after a bunch of knee and back operations I need some shock absorbtion,do they have any??
    they look comfortable

no, only slightly more shock absorption than being barefoot, because of the rubber sole. Because of the operations you mentioned, I would talk to my doctor first. Honestly, because of the way they're designed to be just like walking barefoot, and thus encouragement striking on the forefoot instead of the heel when walking/running, they may well indeed strengthen your legs better...but then again, not sure I'd risk running without shock absorption based on your surgeries.
They'd be mighty expensive "relax around the house" shoes, but they are comfortable!
You may want to look at their website's Health/Wellness section all the Biomechanics sections and then talk to your doctor
