Want to start off with thanking everyone on the forum! The information provided here is phenomenal! I went ahead and purchased a Merkur 23C, Colonel Conk razor/brush stand, Edwin Jagger Badger brush (from Crabtree & Evelyn), Feather blades, and I also signed up for the TSD quarterly soap! I hope this is a solid start. After much time researching I decided I needed a better shave experience. I get a lot of irritation with current shave solutions and just have gotten tired of it. So I hope I have a good experience but I know it will take some time to get a good solid technique down.
Welcome to The Shave Den, a great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving, I hope you enjoy your stay! Be sure to sign up for the July Newbie Give-Away for a chance to win some great shave gear! Sounds like you have some great kit on order, and definitely the right attitude, so with a little practice you'll be well on your way! :happy088
Welcome...Looks like you hit the ground running...You should smokin' in no time... Many great Shaves, and see you around the Den...
Welcome to TSD! Let me echo those above and say that's a solid shave kit. When your kit has shown up and you're ready for that first shave, just remember: NO PRESSURE. Best of shaves.
I really appreciate the warm welcoming. I hope I can get rid of old shaving habits I have acquired through the years! Not using pressure will probably be the hardest habit to drop.
It will be. But luckily there is an additive to the DE blade that helps keep that under control once you find out how to activate the control switch. DE blades! NEW, with irritation! Yeah, unfortunately, this is the where the learning curve comes in to play. If you press too much, you'll know it. You shouldn't have to press at all, in fact. You'll get the hang of it though, I'm sure.
Finally all my items are here! Ordered many of the items separately so it took a while for the starter kit to be complete! Just need a good cup or something to that effect for my brush.
