Today I was walking through a flea market and saw a red coffin box marked WAM or something like that(I dont have it here with me) and looked inside- ABoker King Cutter with Ivory celluloid handles.I got this for $20 and ran like a thief, this was absolutly perfect and after about fifty swipes with an Illinios strop, canves and leather,I cut a hair by dropping it on the blade!!!! I have never seen this and it was amazing, this is as shave ready as anything could be,I cant wait to try it tomrrow as I had already shaved today. I now know what to strive for when sharpining my other razors.Whoever owned this before me sure knew what he was doing.I tried to post a picture but it wouldnt let me ,I had the camera set on fine and it said it was too much info,Ill post it as soon as I can figure out how to,also the info I was able to obtain said by the tree it dates to about 1935-45.some of the gold etching is worn off, does anyone know if this can be replaced? And how? Thanks alot Griz
Congrads!! Woohooo!! I know the feeling all too well. I was in NH with my inlaws at antique store and the store was bare so I asked the owner if he had any razors, he pulls out a bag he said it was from another vendor ( was a co-op of sorts) and he had to call her if I was interested. Well he opens the bag and out pops a 1inch+ wade and Butcher for Barbers use, and second razor to fall out was a Joseph Elliot Silver Steel with thumb notch both in near mint condition. I offered 45 bucks for both, she wavered on the phone and finally caved, I ran like a thief in the night man, if she only knew what she could get for it. oh well. I'll never sell either best W&B I own. David
Great find. Bokers are very fine razors and if it's been honed by someone that knows what they are doing, you are in for a real treat.
I feel like a little kid waiting for easter to eat some candy. What we need is rogaine for the face....
