Just wanted to introduce myself. A little about my shaving history. Just started wetshaving about a month and a half ago. Started with a merkur 180 LH, edwin jagger best badger small, and some coln. conk bay rum. So far I have tried feathers and Gilette 7 o clocks. I also use nivea aftershave balm. I am starting to really get the hang of it. Recently got my first tube of Proraso. Looking forward to a lifetime of better shaving with no more cartridges and goo!
Baton Rouge for now. I frequent northeast LA and NOLA as well. That's why I bought my brush in a small size so it could travel well.
Welcome! I like the Nivea balm, especially after a rough shave. Sounds like a good product for someone just starting out. Enjoy your shaves!
hmmm... never heard of a left-handed razor. That is what the LH is for, isn't it? Is that anything like a left-handed smoke shifter? I believe those were sold in the camping section right next to the non-shriveling bacon grease. Just kiddin'. :happy102 Welcome to the Den! Several years ago we went down to Shreveport to visit my brother while he was stationed a Barksdale. I'm sorry, but when the average heat index was over 115 degrees for the three days we were there, that's TOO BLOODY HOT! Nice place, though. Again, welcome to the Den.
Welcome to The Shave Den, a great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving, I hope you enjoy your stay!
Have you tried Iridiums? They're quickly becoming my favorite blade -- sharp, smooth, and long-lived. They're supposedly quite similar to Gillette 7 o'clocks in the yellow package -- I think they're made by a Gillette-licensed factory in Russia -- but smoother, from what I hear.
I would never wetshave in LA - far too aggressive, even on a setting of 1. I always, always shave in Alabama, it just seems to suit my skin although of course YMMV :happy102
