How does your stuff look? Shiny and new or with a bit of patina?

So far I've just rinsed them with water once I'm done, and doing a more thorough rinse when I change the blade.
I have noticed that some of them aren't as bright as when I got them, so I'll probably let them soak in soapy water once in a while to keep them shiny.

Alcohol dip... gets the soap build off instantly!

Really nasty gets Scrubbing Bubbles... but really nasty is only for fleabay and local finds first... then alcohol dip!

I let it go but cleaning razors once in a while is a good idea to keep them fit.

I too am pretty casual about cleaning. All of my straights have a bit of patina and since they aren't routinely exposed to large amounts of water, I just towel them off after each use and store them. My safety razors seem to get a bit scalier despite my best efforts to rinse them and dry them after each use. When they get really crusty, some scrubbing bubbles and a toothbrush seem to bring them back to life.

I just rinse a razor after a shave if I'm going to use it the next day. When I'm moving on to the next razor, before putting the old one back in a drawer, I'll wipe it off, maybe scrub a little with a toothbrush and dry it off. I don't care about shininess, I just don't want the razors to accumulate the layers of gunk that I had to clean off most of the vintage ones. Sometimes I dip it in alcohol to remind the bacteria that I've got my eye on them, but I'm not totally consistent about that.

I use one Razor a week, than i change. I clean the used one with warm water, some washing-up liquid and an old tooth brush.

So my MERKURS and EJ are all shiny. But my Fatboys all show a little bit of patina and brass.
