I have tried researching this Razor but have had no joy so far. Can anyone please identify this one? Your help is appreciated.
The cap and guard are from a Laurel razor made in Sheffield England in the 1920's and 30's. The handle looks like it came from a Gillette Tech. Len
i don't know anything about the company but i see laurel razors up for auction not infrequently- most of the ones i see are for ladies and are called "boudoir" models. perhaps someone with a waits can give more info on the laurel company. so it looks like the cap from a laurel razor with an open comb with a tech handle.
The company that made the laurel razor line is the George H. Lawrence, Limited, Sheffield England. In addition to the OC they did indeed make the Laurel Ladies Boudoir razor and other Tech looking razors with ball end handles. They also made razors with plastic bar guards. Len
I was offered a Laurel razor the other day for free. It was a Tech copy and it was the property of a lady. I think that they were made in Sheffield for the ladies market and thus were very mild. I don't know about the handle. But I use a Feather Portable head with a Lux stainless steel handle so mixing and matching is pretty easy.
If it is a mix of razors then it must be a Unisex one so i reckon its ok for a bloke to use. Actually it gives a good shave, not as mild as one would think but is comfortable to use.
