If Only I Were Two-Faced

So I have this terrible quandary. I had a beard for a couple of years, and it was the most beautiful, magnificent, and awesome beard the human eye ever beheld. But I got to where I was hanging out on this forum, as well as a few (lesser) others, and really wanting that clean-shaven, BBS, smelling good feeling again. So I brought about the death of the beard, and I've really been enjoying my wet-shaving ... but I find myself really missing the beard now. My problem is I want BOTH ... the beard, plus the wet-shaving experience. I don't know what to do, other than just have the beard and enjoy the shaving around its lines. That's just not the same as lathering up the whole face and mowing it all down, though. Just wanted to lament a little, and wonder if anyone else has the same predicament.

How did you get to be hanging out on this forum if you were not a shaver?

Anyway, just shave one side of your face and let the beard grow on the other. The best of both worlds! Just be sure to accent your profile best you can to minimize possible negative reaction from outside observers

Sport a vandyke (I'm pretty sure thats misspelled) or Rock some sweet sideburns. :)
My cousin loves his DE. One of his favorite reasons is that he can cut sharp lines around his goatee and such.

Grow the beard back and wet shave around the edges.

Also, shave your legs and armpits.

Yanno...I really want to do this, my my skull is lopsided from getting kicked by a horse 30 some years ago.

I didn't get kicked by a horse, but my dome isn't the nicest. Even though I have a full head of hair, I loathe having thick curly afro-ish hair and have been shaving my head for the last few decades.

Unless it doesn't grow anymore, just do it.

    Hair grows back quickly.

Wow! Hey, this could work, maybe I could use it as an excuse to buy me a Harley!

Man I really want to go slick on the dome, I use clippers with the NO.1 guard the shortest I can get, I don't know if they make a guard to cut closer. But I've been sporting a van dyke for about 6 yaers now and wouldn't dream of shearing it off. I'm just not brave enough yet to take a razor to the head even though you can see scalp the way I cut it every 2 weeks. Maybe we need a support club for people thinking about head shaving.

Jeff, you need to shave you're head once in your life. I did it and i loved it then I wanted my hair back and by then it grew back.
You could always make a bet you know you're going to lose. Say the loser has to shave their head. When you lose you'll have a great excuse. If it doesn't look good can always tell people "Hey I lost a bet". If you have a wife "Sorry hunny I lost a bet I had to do it!"

Well I decided to grow the beard back. I started looking at some family pictures we had taken just a few months ago while I still had it, and have concluded it's simply too awesome not to have. I keed, but I really am blessed with the ability to grow a nice beard, and the difference is, I see pictures of myself without it now, and I don't like how I look. Looking at pics with the beard, and I LOVE how I look.
Unfortunately this will require going about a week without shaving at all while it grows in enough for me to accurately cut in the lines. But after that I'll be back in business with my daily shaving routine, including then a twice-weekly beard-trimming. My facial hair grows at a rate of about 1/8" every 10 days, and I keep the goatee at a 3, the sides and mustache at a 2. That means I'll have it back by the first of December.
This is probably very boring to most of you, but exciting for me. Thanks for indulging.

Good to hear...I would never get rid of my beard, but it is a trim, neat, professor-ish one, so I still shave the neck and cheeks. I do not miss shaving my chin. Not at all.
