Stetson AS

I picked up a bottle of this Stetson the other day. I had been out for awhile and had forgotten how much I liked it. Looking around I see very few post about the stuff. SO what do you guys think of the Stetson original?:happy070

 

Tried it - liked it.

Not bad at all. I was expecting something fierce from the rumors I've heard, sort of "make sure you've got room to stop, drop and roll" after use. I found it to be sort of European and mild. Don't know if I can make an AS with the same name as my hat a regular but folks seem to be using an AS called Adidas or something (you'll smell like an ol' wet sneaker all day!) The Laaadies love it?

 

If memory serves Fuzzy we reviewed Stetson AS last year, but you're right it doesn't get a lot of play. I've always been a fan of the Stetson line and I have and use the AS regularly. It's rather potent so no need to use a lot. Has a rich, leathery, man scent. Provides decent after the shave protection, but I use it more for the scent than anything. Good stuff. :happy088

 

Definate man scent Shep. A little does go a long way. I get a lot of good attention when I wear it LOL

Just a heads up, wally world has huge 8oz bottles of stetson after shave for $9. They are located in the Christmas special section not with the usual shaving stuff. This stuff rocks and at this price one should stock up.

 

NICE, I almost picked up a puny bottle for $4.99 I'm glad I didn't.

 

I've always said we are "A Bunch of Eccentric Preferential Wet Shaving Enthusiasts" "Preferential" being the key word. I've heard some on this board even use Aqua Velva :happy102 Nivea Unscented After Shave Balm man myself. Can't say that I've ever tried Stetson. But with everything in wet shaving, YMMV.

 

You say that like it's a bad thing. Surely, you would dare blaspheme the Velva, would you?

 

You're right YMMV. I got about 2 inches per gallon of Stetson. Smelled like something a teenager would take a bath in. I left my once used bottle for the cleaning crew. The next day it was gone. I hope they don't hold a grudge.

 

Check. I saw it in the Christmas section at my local W. Mart too. Came in a twin pack w/ the cologne. They also had gift sets of English Leather, Canoe and British something or another???

No huge bottle of Stetson just the twin pack....

I need to find the Canoe set omg!

 

Aaron, the Wallmart in Surprise still has the Canoe gift sets and large bottles of Stetson.

Thanks for the heads up, to bad the trip to Surprise would eat up any savings

There's a couple others though I could try in Phoenix though~!
