I have been looking on many diffrent sites. and i have stumbled upon Goodfella safety razors on a couple. But i have not heard anything good or bad about them. If anybody has any input or past experience with one i would love to hear a review. http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Goodfella-Safety-Razor-Satin-Black_p_144.html online from all the reviews i found were 3 and they were all good reviews but then again there was only 3.
ok thank you. i was looking and i might buy one down the road. They are so beautiful, in my opinion probably one of the best looking modern de razors i have seen.
I'm not familiar with them but it looks like a quality razor and I can't see John selling junk. LeGaulois you say that it is a mild razor, is this based on your personal experience? Most open combs don't enjoy mild reputations is the reason I ask.
I have one of them with the black heads. It is a clone of the Gillette old type razor with one very important difference. The gaps in the comb are closer so that the razor is milder than other Gillette Old type clones like the Merkur open comb or the Muhle open comb. The handle is solid, heavy stainless steel and has very good grip and quite intuitive to hold the handle at the ridges provided to go along with a shave with it. If you prefer milder shavers like the Gillette tech or any Gillette adjustable on a 2, this razor is for you. BBS comes with an extra pass and I believe is a great razor for anyone with sensitive skin. I prefer aggressive razors, hence this comes out once in a while when I need a quick nick free shave very fast. For the price point if you need a middle of the line aggressive razor, the Merkur open comb would be for you.
ah ok thanks for the info. Cause i was also wondering because from some general articles said that closed comb then open comb then slant bar for the different levels of aggression. So this would be a good razor if i wanted a more mild razor. One quick question if this is a mild razor and i were to put in a aggressive blade what would it be? Would it be somewhere in the middle?
If you're skillful with a Dremel Tool you can open up the gaps between the teeth, it will then shave like a Gillette Old Type. I really like the handle design but found it too skinny, too short and the grooves don't come far enough down the handle. I made my own version which I call the Improved handle.
