When I was shaving my head, I'd use a DE with a less expensive blade. I'd go one WTG pass and then one ATG pass and any necessary touch up. Then cold water rinse and some AS. Voila!
I use a straight razor for shave my head for the last 9 years . In this case you have to hone the razor 6 or 7 time in a year
I shave my head with an electric clippers 2 times a week or so. Not in the shower of corse.:happy102 I shaved my head several time with a Mach3 which made it nice and smooth but I had a few cuts here and there.
Been shaving my head for around 8yrs,used to use the M3 but since i switched to DE shaving I use a ball end open comb tech, after a shower,Face first then the head,Gets easier the more you do it with the DE. I top it off with witch hazel and then clubman+everyman jack aftershaves mixed for a blinding finish.

Welcome to TSD. Two years ago, I shaved my head to support my grandson who lost his hair because of leukemia. When I went to my dermatologist, he found a melanoma on the top of my head that I could not see. It was about the size of a dime. Now I have a scar about three inches long on top of my head thanks to my grandson losing his hair. If it were not for that, who knows what may have transpired for me. He is technically cured now and has a full head of hair like his grandpa. He was diagnosed at 1.5 years. He is now 5 and very active.
Wow! What a tremendous link between a precious little boy & his very cool grandpop. You both have my best wishes & prayers for continued good health!
Like the previous contributor I too shaved my head when something didn't feel right. 5 years and two battles with cancer later I shave every night. For me it's a way to try and understand my life with cancer.....mine can't be cured. So I try to take something tedious and make it pleasurable.
Sorry: Hot shower Glycerin on the cancer curl hair.....what was not burned off by radiation Proraso Red on an Pro 48 TWO pass shave.....direction change every night Weber Classic with a Feather Warm rinse, Cold rinse, Witch hazel rinse Pat dry then head lube (because it was on sale) Clubman AS
Have been head shaving for around 10 years. I wish I started 10 years sooner. I usually shave my head daily (sometimes I skip a day). 1. Hot Shower prep (sometimes using Barbasol from the tube as a pre shave if I skip a day). 2. Hot mug or scuttle to mix lather (either cream or soap that I will use for face and head). 3. Apply first layer of lather to both the head and face and let sit for a minute. 4. Shave face, then head. (Most of the time with DE but sometimes with Trac II or Injector). 5. Re-lather face and shave face for a second pass. 6. Check and determine do I need to make another pass on head and face. If so, they receive another pass. If it is good the shave is complete. 7. Witch Hazel and/or Cold Water Rinse and After Shave or Balm as needed and Cologne if desired. That is usually the order.
I think I love shaving my head more than my face. My routine is pretty simple. 1. Prep - hot wash or hot shower 2. Apply homemade PSO 3. Make lather - either in mug or direct on the scalp 4. 1 pass - east to westish from crown to ears, north to south from crown to neck. 5. Rinse and check for stubble 6. Re-lather and 1 more pass from front to back. 7. Touch up swirls on crown with lather on hand. 8. Rinse and apply AS 10 minutes tops.
