Glad to hear that you are back with your old favorite Lloyd! I used an E2 Schick Injector for the first time a week or so ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how close and comfortable they are. I will be using it in my rotation from now on as well. Your being reunited with the razor of your youth is like my going back to (my first razor) the GEM MM Clog Pruf that my Dad gave me when he got his '59 Fat Boy. It's a great feeling isn't it?!

Remarks: I got the Merkur 11c along with some other stuff in the mail and was quite anxious to try them. I followed the recommendation of the website that I shopped and ordered the open comb razor to get a better result at the neck area, I was not disappointed with the result at all. The shave was much smoother compared to my other razor, 23c. I did my usual WTG, XTG and ATG passes; followed by several small touch ups. As a result, this razor will replace 23c to be my daily razor. I also took a picture since the camera gear was already there.

Trying to push the boar & the boar-badger back in to rotation... they're just not agreeing.

As for the derby, it's a vertical and i'm shocked that it keeps on pushing. For some reason my HD and red tip just push blades to their absolute limit and I end up changing blades out of frustration of eagerly awaiting some tugging or discomfort. My HD pushes 7+ days out of a Personna Platinum Chrome and my Red tip does the same with a derby vertical with ease. I have a light to medium beard--enough to see stubble across my sink when i'm done shaving with a 1 or 2 day growth so I guess that's a factor. Whatever it is, it's working and I love it.

I've been dying to use that aristocrat that I got last week and cleaned up but i'm gonna hold out 'till this derby starts giving me problems.
