I've been hanging around here for a few weeks and this is my first posting. I became interested in DE shaving in December when I was investigating how to stop those nasty ingrown hairs. I have a thick curly beard and my approach for the last 20 years has been to try and get closer and closer with a multi-blade razor. Now I realize that is the opposite of what I should be doing. I now make 3 passes with a DE razor and my face is as smooth and clean as ever. I'm also enjoying "the hunt" for new equipment... My wife and kids think I'm crazy (especially when taking photos of my stash) but who cares, I'm enjoying myself. Thanks to all the folks on this forum who contribute with such great information.

Good catch. I shave in the shower and dropped the brush a few weeks ago so it's chipped on the bottom. That's also why I chose a stainless steel lather bowl. So you are exactly right.
