My frankensoap is Col. Conk Amber melted into shredded remnants of TOBS Traditional. It actually lathers and performs superbly. It may be ugly, but it is not sub-par by any means.

It was late when I shaved and didn't photo the green bottle of Glenlivet I had as a night cap.

-I like mixing Mama Bear products with TSD products-two talented chicks. I started this shave with my new Wade and Butcher Wood Chopper-it took a few seconds to realize it's badly in need of a hone so I grabbed the Fili, took it to the strop and let it rescue my shave-which it did quite nicely.

Str8: W&B, 2 stone honed by me after watching Glen's Video on You-tube (she's sharp and smooth),
Strop: 100 Laps on starshaving's Big daddy (My practice strop for 6 months), then finished with 40 laps on SRD 3inch, Long ENGLISH BRIDLE STROP (gift to myself for learning how to strop)
Brush: Vulfix 404 (a good Brush at a wonderful price)
Cream: Everest Russian SC, (All the Russian creams I've used so far have been excellent)
AS: Vintage English Leather AS Lotion, (very soothing and leaves your skin soft)

A while ago I read that it's too much to learn to hone, strop, and shave all at one time with a str8. So for over 6 months I've practiced stropping and honing, all while acquiring a number of str8's to play with. Todays shave was an accomplishment of over 6 months of practice and obsession. Today I had the best str8 shave (head and face) I've ever had, BBS almost. (other than 2 small areas on my jaw line). I would not have been able to get to here if it wasn't for all the great information, videos and tips that are shared by my shave brothers on the forums. (TSD and SRP)

10pm, here I sit ...
After a week of traveling to the great frozen north ( I drove in snow! The first time in 10 years!), a day full of shuffling from one hour long interview to another ... I made it home. And today, my TGIF, the freezer decides to act up. So after a 13+ hour day .. I am sitting in my jammies with Jeff and am finally able to post my shave.

Just received a real nice 6/8 Torrey and had a fantastic shave with it. It wasn't close to a DE shave yet, but it was considerably better then I have been achieving with a straight.
