Back To The Futur! Sunday, March 27th Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simpson Douglas Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet A/S: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Definitely a top shelf shave this morning. The Simpson Douglas whipped up mounds of rich creamy lather from the Penhaligon's shave soap. I had been neglecting my Futur for the past month or more while I fiddled around with other razors. However when I picked it up, it was like old times. The Futur effortlessly mowed down the stubble and left me with a smooth face and zero irritation. The BB aftershave made me feel like an aristocrat or a Blue Blood. "Good Show" as they might say across the pond.

Sunday, March 27, 2011 Pre-shave Soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: Jaggerooney Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra Brush: Simpson Emperor 2 Soap: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet (tallow) A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel, Trumper Marlborough Splash A very nice Sunday shave. The Bleue Extra is a good blade, but the Iridium I used yesterday (it was shave #5 for both blades) resulted in a supremely smooth shave not quite equaled by the Bleue Extra.

Sunday: The Weekend was too Short Shave Hot Shower Green Marvy Mug MadHatter SilverTip JM Fraser's SC Lady Gillette Stars - Pink SuperMax Super Stainless Sunrise (1) Cool Water Rinse Hemp Pomegranate Mango Body Moisturizer Gucci Guilty perfume Nice, relaxing late day shower and shave. The Fraser's SC (Thanks Keith!) was heavenly, smells just like lemon cake batter. A very cushiony and glossy cream and it provided a lot of protection. The Sunrise blades (I don't know that there is a difference between the regular Super Stainless) were a little rough. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Shawna, this is weird--I used the Fraser's cream also in the past, and it is as you know, made in Canada. It has the love of many wetshavers, but I lately cannot finish a tub of it. Every time I get one, I use it for a few shaves, and then I give it away, because I don't get so much of shaving pleasure from it. There are some barbershops here in the city of Montreal which are using it somehow in their hot lather machines to shave their customers.

I don't know that I would use it everyday (it is Jeff's after all!), but it was a nice change from my rotation. Maybe used sparingly is the way to go with this one?!?
The scent of the original is nice, and the lather is great, but after just to use a for a few shaves, I become fed up from it, and I give away....I think maybe is because I became too much used to imported creams in tubes. Corinne's uncle is a barber, and he buys sometimes this cream, but he uses only for himself.
Sorry if the blades aren't up to snuff, have them almost a year and have never seen a vendor carry them. Honestly don't recall who gave them to me, as for the cream use as much as you like I gave it to both of you, don't let Jeff hog it all!:happy102
It is a fine blade Keith! For some reason, the Platinum work better for my shins than other blade do.
Sorry the Clix didn't work out for you Rodd, while I do have one like the one you showed on your SOS post, the model I shave with is a different design, and I can't remember how the model like yours shaves. The model I use is a Clix E-Z-Flo, specifically the beat up one missing all the plating on the head cap shown in the middle of the picture below, while my daughter uses the plated one on the right.
Sunday!! Valet Autostrop Feather SE SOC Boar C&E Sandlewood Proraso Preshave (before every pass x3) Proraso ASB (white) Well I only have 1 Feather SE left...but I have 200 on their way right now . I usually find that a brand new Feather in my Valet feels too sharp for my liking. I used the Proraso before each shave, and the shave was simply heavenly. It didn't feel like a sharpness test on my face, just a nice smooth shave .
