Sunday, May 8th Razor: PILS Blade: Personna 74 Brush: Savile Row Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Czech and Speake A/S: Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet I was recently gifted a couple of Personna 74 blades and took one for a spin this morning. I received an excellent shave and am curious to see how many shaves I can get from this legendary blade. I have heard claims of up to 30 shaves per blade. If I can get half that many, I will be very impressed.

Great shave today. Gets me to pondering about using SEs for the entire upcoming week. I think I just may. :think002
Sunday's Shave Hot Shower Arko Shave Stick Omega 10029 1954-58 Eversharp Schick I2 Long's/Personna (Day7) Arko Nem moisterizer/Arko Aqua AS splash There you have it...7 Great Consecutive shaves from the Longs/Personna without one hint of tug or pull...I could continue to see just how many I could get, but I want to do a thorough cleaning with tooth-brush a paste...So I think I'll retire it. Can't ask much more than 7 perfect shaves from a blade anyhow...
Shave Of The Day - May 8th, 2011 Hot Shower Nix Travel Boar Brush Ogallala Bay Rum Soap Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge Razor Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade ~ Day 1 Thayers Witch Hazel/Osage Rub Blend Aqau Velva Original Sport :freezing Meh shave at best, changed too many things at once, and ended up with some irritation and a couple of weepers. The Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge Razor reminds me of the vintage Clix I use, since the correct cutting angle is very narrow, and the shave it gives is very mild, almost too mild it seems. Jody warned me against using the included Wilkinson blades, but I decided to give them a go since they were included, and I didn't feel any tugging or pulling but not sure how well it worked. I've only used the OBR soap once or twice before, and as before, my face seemed to have a reaction to it. So in the end I have some irritation... I really seemed to struggle to knock down the whiskers and I'm not sure if the reason is the razor being so mild, or that the blade just didn't seem to be cutting. :think002 On the plus side, I really didn't plan on using the Nix brush, but it worked so well while I was defunking the brush (which it really didn't need), that I went ahead and used it for the shave. 3 blades
Razor- Merkur Progress Blade- Merkur (switching to Derbies next week!) Cream- C&E Nomad Brush- Frank Shaving "fine badger" AS- Nivea Sensitive Balm Getting better and better at these by the day. Still getting nicks though, the Merkur blades feel rough, hoping Derbies will work out better for me.
rofl:happy097 Want to hear something even funnier? Gillette banned me from their Facebook page because I went on there and made fun of the Fusion with the below image. No lie.
Been awhile since I posted in here, but I did have an interesting experience today: I got a good shave from a Crystal blade! The best I've had with one was a mediokeydokey single shave when loaded in the Sheraton, before that I'd never gotten even an acceptable shave. Today's was quite good. Gillette Big Fellow Crystal blade >2 year old Trumper's Rose shave cream sample Clubman Vanilla splash Everready w/ silvertip (my first reknot from a couple years ago) Rather nice shave
