Haven't used the Slim in a few months because every time I do it seems to mangle me, but it actually gave me a real nice shave this morning, no fuss. had it set to 7 the whole time, and switched over to 9 for the clean up pass. 4/5

Third shave with this new razor. Much better with Wilki than with the Dorco 301. I'm getting the feel of it better - quite different from my Fat Boy. Great balance and smooth feel. I think it will rise to the level of my Fat Boy in personal praise as I learn its nature and experiment with blade pairing.

Good smooth and close shave today with only a bit of irritation in one area and one small nick.

 

Breaking in a New Stinky Horsehair

Burham 1909 razor/Arko in a Mug/New Turkish Horsehair #6

New turkish #6: soaked in vinegar, cleaned in dish soap and test lathered in Arko, all today. So for a first use I can say it was more scrubby than my well broken in one, But I feel it's still pretty soft even though it's not broken in. The bareness of the knot is not very noticeable now and I'm sure it will improve with use. I must have alligator skin as I don't think these feel stiff and scratchy at all when new. But I'm not a super soft fluffy brush kind of guy. This brush is still quite funky and sad to say the Arko didn't cover much of it up. As for the Burham, Man does this little s/e work wonders on me. BBS in 3 gentle passes, but I did a 4th, just because it felt sooooo gooood. Finished with Osage Rub.

I face lather creams, got three passes from a little blob of Bigelow, and could have done more if needed. This cheapo brush is still doing a good job. And you really can't go wrong with an injector.

It has been unseasonably warm here the past several days, and the Ingram was calling my name this morning. The menthol goodness was very refreshing and resulted in an excellent shave. A quick splash of the Proraso AS was a perfect finish, extending the cooling effect.
