If you designed your own pizza and were allowed four toppings (in addition to the cheese and tomato there as standard), what would you choose to make your perfect pizza. My effort is as follows. 1. Small cocktail style sausages 2. Cajun chicken 3. Pepperoni 4. Jalopeno peppers (cut small) If I were to continue, onions, spicy beef, ham, bacon. Preferably all of the above. For me absolutely no sweetcorn or pineapple. My wife would probably have sweetcorn and pineapple in her top four.
Fun question. Most of the time I get a white pie with fresh garlic, ricotta, and broccoli rabe if they have it. If not spinach is a fine substitue. For a red pie, I really like just a plain cheese pizza. If I dress it up I normally go for fresh garlic, onion, and sausage.
My favorites are veggies: 1) Jalapenos 2) Onions 3) Bell Peppers 4) Mushrooms If I get one more topping, then I'll add the one meat I really like - Canadian Bacon.
My pizza always has pepperoni times 2, that-which-they-claim-to-be-beef times 2, bacon (the real kind, not that ham they call "Canadian bacon") times 2, portobello mushrooms times 2, black olives times 2, extra cheese, light sauce (meaning not so much, not meaning light in calories) and once it's on my plate, it gets topped with crushed red pepper, garlic salt and Parmesan cheese. The smell of bell pepper makes me nauseated, tasting them will make me hurl. The only way I like onions is sauteed or fried.
There is a place down the street that makes killer Pizza. They do it all old school from scratch and have a huge selection of specialty pies. When I am in the mood I go for... Extra Cheese Real Hamburger Real Bacon Topped with sauteed onions When they make this for me they cook the pizza sans the onions. Once it is done they add the onions to the top and then put slices of different cheeses on the top and it goes back in the oven until they are all melted. It is amazing!
Extra Sauce Spicy/Sweet Sausage Mushrooms Even more sauce I remember when I was stationed in Colorado only one place would deliver to the barracks. When you asked for extra sause there would be so much sause you had to be careful your toppings wouldn't slide off. It was the kind of sause that would cramp up the underside of your jaw :drool. Oh man do I miss that place. Thanks for rekindling the memories :thanks
And the sause, to me that is what will make or break a pizza. After that the toppings are simply a nice decoration. :happy108
Olive Oil, not tomato, garlic, klamata olives, feta and coarse sea salt Or Pepperoni, hot Italian sasauge, mushrooms and olives
bbq pork Chicken black olives extra cheese / feta cheese SOOO goood. We have a pizza place that also sells Chinese food and is owned by a Korean family... They have the best pizza around. Some weird toppings but are very amazing.
I wish there was a pizza place here that offered Ricotta cheese as an option. When I make pizza at home it always has ricotta, mushrooms, and pepperoni, at least, occasionally more. Otherwise, it depends on my mood and where the pizza is coming from. Papa Johns is usually pineapple and onions. Pizza Hut is stuffed crust pepperoni.
If I am making it, I usually go pepperoni, diced ham, and green olives, but whenever possible, andouille sausage is delicious. This year we gave grilling pizzas a try. So good.
:signs108 Grilling a pizza is on my Hafta Try list this year. What did you set the pizza on? Special holder? Right on the grate?
