Latest acquisition - rare Gillette set

The Rocket Traveler Ad says "highly finished razor". These Rockets are more shiny than US-Super-Speeds.

The Rocket TV instruction says "fully polished caps"

For me are both heads identical (high polished nickel plated):

It is interesting to see in the Rocket Traveler advert, they tell you the Toggle is gold-plated and the No. 58 and No. 70 are nickel-plated but don't mention the plating at all on the Rocket.

Since you said they are more shiny than US Super Speeds, I wonder if they are chromium (chrome) plated? The only chromium plated Gillette razors I know of are the US-made Criterion - but nothing with Gillette would surprise me.

 

no, I think it´s nickel plated but polished. I believe all Rocket doors (No52, No54, No58) have this finish.

Ha! I wished my Aristocrat looked as good as yours but mine's older so I don't mind it looking well used... 1914. My faux ivory blade boxes are different too. Mine are the 2-piece blade boxes.
