Hello, fellow wet shavers, My name is Jim and I live in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Townsend, Tennessee. I was introduced to this site by a friend of mine who sent me a Gillette Super Speed razor after I posted a link to an article about wet shaving on facebook. I had no idea such a forum as this existed, but am very glad to know that it does. I began to be interested in wet shaving when I was a United Methodist pastor in Greeneville, Tennessee. The year was 2005, and I was 25 years old. One of my church members had a little one chair barbershop where he cut hair on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I decided to visit him for a haircut. As I sat in the chair, I was enjoying the atmosphere, when suddenly, out of the blue, he puts this hot damp towel around my neck. I thought that was amazing, and then he took it off, lathered my neck up with a brush, and used a straight razor to trim the edges of my hair. I had never experienced anything like that before. I was an immediate convert to the idea of the shaving brush and soap, and when I saw a box of Williams Mug Soap and a brush at wal mart a couple months later, i jumped all over it. Since then, the last six years have been spent learning and adjusting products and technique. So, that's my long winded way of saying that I'm glad to be here, hope I can learn something, and share my own insights at the same time! All the best, Jim Gass

Thanks, I love this area too. I've actually spent some time in Dothan, Alabama. I was in the pep band for East Tennessee State University's basketball teams, and in 2006 or 2007 we had the Atlantic Sun Conference basketball tournament there in Dothan.
