I signed up on here a while back and then stopped posting and just stuck to lurking. I lurked this board, SMF, and B&B. I now know that I picked the right board (this one, of course) and decided to return. I have been wetshaving for two years+ (can't really remember). In the last month, I have perfected the use of the Merkur Slant (almost sold it on ebay because I couldn't figure out how to get bloodless shaves with it) and the method of making GOOD lather. Before, I used creams and didn't really make proper lather, but settled for really just applying the cream on my face with a brush. It's amazing what one can do wrongly for so long before finally learning the right way to do it. I'm glad to be back (and I'll leave behind the political talk from last time).
:signs046back! It took me a good 6 months before I finally had the light bulb moment with making lather and razor technique. Now every shave is pretty much spot on, as long as I use the products that my skin agrees with.
