Just when I was thinking my Semogue 2000 was to big and I've almost given up on it, I pulled it out this morning!

    Progress (set on 2)
    ASCO (Orange Box)
    AOS Sandalwood soap

Face lathered, yes it's a big brush!

When I was done, bang, BBS without even thinking about it!

    Congrats on a good shave!

The only brush that I felt was bordering on to big was the Omega 49.

Yup, that 2000 is a big brush. I really like mine. Broken in nice and soft.

    Congrats!

I have to try out a boar brush one of these days.

    Definitely worth trying.

I also have an Semogue 830 that I absolutely love.

My other brushes are badgers, 1 rooney pure and a TGN finest knot in my fathers old simpson handle. But those brushes are great too. (I won't talk about my AOS pure).

I definitely like the look of the Semogues and I've never heard anything bad about them. As a dedicated face-latherer, I've always feared that boars might be too scritchy. Would you say the softness after break-in on par with a non-pure badger brush?

I would definitely say my 830 is a little softer now then my rooney pure. but the rooney pure is softer the the AOS pure.

The TGN finest is my softest though, I like it most for creams.

The 830 is starting to be my goto though.

For the price, you can't really beat the 830.

I used my SOC boar today and it is quite nice. I like the stiffer bristles and have never found it scratchy...more exfoliating. I liked it so much, I bought 4 more Semogue boars.
