After Shave in the Freezer ?

Yes its that time of year again...And I had forgotten how much I dug it last year...Well today as I was leaving home to take care of some busines, I remembered to put a bottle of my favorite Arko "Aqua" AS Splash in the freezer...Late this afternoon upon returning I remembered it and ran to the kitchen, and splashed some on....Whoa!! Like heaven!! That is if heaven smells like a barber-shop from the '50's...

Anybody else like to do this?? Anybody tried it before??? Lets have a show of hands...If not...Try It!! Let us know what you think...I love it, myself...And we have enough freezer space so its not getting mixed up with the food...
Actually, I put it in the door rack of the freezer...And I guess theres enough alcohol so it will never freeze but it gets VERY COLD and smells great...

 

I keep a half liter bottle of water in the fridge and use it for a splash after my rinse and before my after shave. Never tried AS in the freezer. Doubt I will. But that's me.

Making a mental note to give it a shot Lloyd. I used to keep my Visine in the fridge and that was amazingly refreshing.

 

I find menthol with cold water splash is good enough. Might keep my WH menthol in the fridge. Could give you that extra frozen face goodness we all know and love. :anifrozen

 

Never tried it, but a bottle of Barbasol Pacific Rush has just been put in there to try out for tomorrow.

 

That should work rather nicely...You're gonna give your face a "Thrill Ride" in the morning...

 

Man - I can't find that stuff anywhere - the canned goo is everywhere the the AS - dunno!

Well this morning, was the first time this year I could check out the After Shave from the freezer after a shave...To tell you the truth not much difference
I always rinse good with very cold water before applying AS..Therefore you don't notice the temp of the AS...But when you come inside after being out in the heat, the freezing AS feels great!! But after a shave...the Arko Aqua AS Splash is GREAT!! whether from the freeze or not...

So those who said the COLD water splash was adequate....Were Right!!....YMMV

 

Since Florida water out of the tap is never really cold this time a year, more tepid than anything, the refridgerated AS felt really nice. Along with the Vostok soap, it left me feeling refreshed for a good half hour. Gonna try it with Osage Rub on Menthol Monday!

 

I took a measuring cup full of ice to the bathroom with me and let my AS bottle soak in it for a half hour and then cam back and shaved and used it. Before I applied the chilled AS, I used the slushy ice water from the measuring cup as a splash. That was really nice. Then I applied the AS and think that my hands warmed it up before it had a chance to physically freeze my face. It's ok though, I have enough menthol in the AS for the chemical freeze to kick in shortly thereafter

I think I'm more for the ice water splash than the icy AS splash.

 

Make sense...If the tap water isn't really COLD, then the freezing AS would rock!! I want a report on the Monday frozen Menthol Rub...

I think I with you...But after being outside and major sweating the freezing AS was GREAT...I also noticed that I don't think the freezing AS is capable of burning...Thats kind of COOL...(pun intended)...

I think this matter might not be as simple as I thought earlier...Might require more testing...Maybe going for a Super aggressive shave and trying to see if the Freezing AS can burn or not...Any volunteers..??..

Today I was thinking about yesterday. And after rinsing my face after shaving yesterday I put the cream moisturizer on pretty thick and then the freezing AS. And I didn't really feel the AS. Well today I rubbed the moisturizer into the skin pretty good, dried my hands and then splashed the freezing AS on and it felt very refreshing...
I think I'm keeping the AS in the freezer for awhile...

 

I have to find a way to keep it cold until it hits my skin. My hands warmed it up too much on the way to my face. Maybe a sparay bottle or atomizer? I may have to look at this a bit more.

 

Ive been trying the aftershave in the freezer deal since last thursday and for me it hasent really made any difference but i do like to run an ice cube over my face after i rinse so that could be the reason i dont notice it.

 

I tried the witch hazel in the fridge. That was nice, might do that more often this summer.

 

I've been using my Aqua Velva straight from the freezer and I LOVE it! Not only does it feel great it seems to work better for my face. I've found myself going back to the freezer for seconds and even thirds throughout the day. An added bonus is that the pour isn't as messy. It seems to be a little thicker and it stays in my hand better to be slapped on my face and neck.
