I know this has come up in discussions so forgive my asking again -- has anyone ever figured out what the symbols mean that occasionally show up stamped on certain Gillettes? "+" and "o" are the ones I've seen before. Thanks much...
The only ones I've seen or heard of the '+' being on are the red-tip Super Speeds and the 'o' on the blue tip Super Speeds, on both US and British models, so they wouldn't get the heads mixed up at the factory. The '+' of course denoting the HEAVY or aggressive red-tip and the 'o' denoting the MEDIUM or semi-aggressive blue-tip. The regular Super Speed, aka LIGHT, had no marking which also helped keep those heads separated. If there's another explanation, I've not seen it or heard it.
Makes perfect sense, now that you remind me the only "o" I've seen has been on Blue Tips and nowhere else. Thanks!
