A few weeks ago I was at yard sale and saw some razors and a strop. The seller also had fabric samples my wife was interested in. I didn't buy anything then but today my wife and I revisited the house and she was nice enough to sell me this for $20. She was so cool....she even went to some antique dealers who quoted her higher value, but she said she wanted it to go where it would be appreciated. I am way appreciative!! Not an expert on straights so anything you members can tell me bout this razor would be appreciated. Right now it won't cut butter because it's so dull, but I plan on sending it in for honing/sharpening with my Filarmonica that a friend gave me.
Great find and great price. Those'll go for >$100 on the bay all day long. Enjoy, you got a nice one.
You should bee terrible for taking it for that price. I will double the price and you can send it to me and then you can feel better again. Great find and hope you have many great shaves with it. WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE.
Great find. Oil it up while you think on what want to do keeps the rust away. The black spot if rust rub it with oil to soak in makes it easier to get out. you will want to get it honed by pro if it hasn't been already Gssixgun (Glen) does hone work and restoration. I am just beginning also with straights. B
Thats a steal for sure. You will also have a great shaver once its honed. Those blades have a great reputation and for very good reason.
Just wanted to let you know, I called the Police on you... That was basically armed robbery That is what I guess you could call your "Bag Limit while Duck Hunting"
