I'm sure there are already some for sale like this, but what I always wanted is basically Osage Rub in brushless shaving cream form. I'm using a mix of various brushless creams, including Bigelow. I even added menthol but that still did not get it where I wanted. This morning I figured what the heck and mixed in some of that Axe Freeze shampoo, stirred the whole thing up until it was a light blue. Tried it on and WOW. It truly is like shaving with Osage Rub from start to finish. Adding the shampoo doesn't seem to reduce the quality of the cream; whether it would reduce lather if you use a brush I dunno, but it might be worth trying if you want a shockingly cold face before you even slap on the Osage Rub or something similar.
My friend, you should try our Queen's TSD Iced Subzero cream or soap. This is by far the coldest stuff I think was ever created for we wetshavers. Another icy cream is Godrej Menthol Mist, or Palmolive Menthol, or Ingram from Egypt.
+1 for both the ISZ and the Godrej Menthol Mist. Both are great and wonderful. You can also get some M-bomb. So you can get any of the creams or soaps you want to be cool and refreshing. I have all 3 products and they are all great. I have never used Ingrams but have heard good things.
When I run out of what I got (a month or two, I'd guess) I planned on visiting the Shave Den shop to stock up. Thanks for the tips on those, I will check them out!
Queen Charlotte has a soap and cream under the name Vostok that I've heard is very cold as well. Have not tried this scent/variety, but can vouch for the quality of his other products as excellent! http://www.queencharlottesoaps.com/
I can't say anything about that particular scent, but I'll vouch for QC in general. I've had 6 of his croaps and they are first rate. I think I order one of his new soaps next, and I'll always keep something from Matt in my rotation. I will admit to an in-state bias; I'm glad that I can support a vendor from my state.
I like the Godrej more than the others I have as far as menthol. I feel a little with Proraso, and d'man but nothing with Gillette. Of course the Proraso pre/post is pretty decent. I just realized that most of my creams aren't menthol creams and that I rely on my Proraso post shave for any coolness. I am not representing my fellow menth heads very well.
You must to try Ingram from Egypt and Gada Cool Mint from Lebanon - please to let me make that happen for you, my man!
Is there a difference between the English and Egyptian Ingram cream? I have a tube of the English stuff, but have been trying to finish off my tube of Bigelow so it hasn't gotten much use.
Yes, somewhat a difference. The English version unfortunately "melts" and becomes watery and runny. The Egyptian version has a much better consistency. The 2 versions have the same scent and skincare, but I find the Egyptian cream has a little more of a cooling sensation. Let me show a photo of both versions - the Egyptian version is to the left in a smaller plastic tube, and the writing is in English and Arabic.
I'm actually looking for people's recs on coldest products out there in the M.U.G. discussion group. My only experience is Bigelow but I look forward to trying ISZ & others like Ingram, Godrej, QC Vostock, etc.
