    • Bullardo badger/bristle blend
    • voshkod (7)

Really good shave to round out the testing of the L6. I really don't care for the newer Williams but the vintage stuff is really good stuff; wish it had some scent though. &th day on a Voshkod was decent but not perfect adn the AV remains my weapon of choice AS.....some good juice!

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: Merkur Progress XL
    Blade: Lord Platinum Class
    Brush: Vie-Long Gonzalo Boar/Horsehair
    Soap: Proraso (Green Pot)
    A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Alpa 378 Splash

Another hot one today--the day, not the shave! The shave was close, cool, and comfortable, with the Gonzalo providing copious amounts of great lather. The splash of Alpa was a fine finish, and now I'm ready to walk Cody, the dog, and run some errands before it gets REALLY hot.

I am still suffering from pain in my left arm, yet I manage good and nice shaves. The Lord Emofresh cream cools pleasantly, and has a beautiful scent. The Gillette Series balsam is super-icy and comfortable. ;) :D

Ha! Not yet. I've got 20 packs though, from a previous purchase. Rotating between them, BIC and Bolzano makes them last longer.

-OCMM gave me a smooth comfortable shave. It's my second most aggressive now under the R41. I'd say it's about 70% of the R41, I definitely needed that third pass.

ISZ PreShave Balm - First Shave

    Tuesday, July 19, 2011

    • Prep: TSD ISZ PreShave Balm, hot shower w/ cold finish, hand strop blade
    • Cream: C.O. Bigelow w/ 7 drops glycerin
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
    • Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf
    • Blade: Walgreen's Gem (2), 3 passes
    • Post: Ice cube rinse, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, Hand strop blade
    • Shave Rating: 5/5 I'm going to need a new scale if my shaves just keep getting better and better! :happy102

Thanks to Steve (swarden43) I was able to try the TSD ISZ PreShave Balm. What an enjoyable experience it was letting it sit on my face for 20 minutes. I can now understand why some like to leave it on for 30 minutes before their shower. Tomorrow I'll try a shorter application time to see if there's much difference. Today though gave me the smoothest, easiest, & most irritation-free I've ever had and it was just plain ol' fun. What a GREAT way to start the day out. Too many men out there are completely missing out on all of this joy! Thanks again to Steve for sending me this sample and thanks to our Queen JoAnna for making an amazing product. I look forward to using this regularly.

BTW, check out the frost on the Aqua Velva. That's right, I get it right out of the freezer!

I skipped todays shave. Just didn't want to (dont hate me) My face could use a day off. I just showered and scrubbed my face with face wash. After the shower I used a tiny bit of Phyto Expert Green and rubbed it in. My face well my nose and ears have started to peel a bit with the sunburn.

    Tuesday

    Gillette Guard (1)
    Thater Stout 2
    La Toja stick
    Nivea Sensitive balm
    AVC Ice Blue
    Burberry Brit edt

Wow! The La Toja didn't dissapoint, loads of thick, creamy, slick lather, and with a light coating to start, I easily had enough for 4-5 passes. It smells kind of like MWF to me, and left my face feeling neutral.

Now for the Guard. I've been wanting to try one just because they're there, and I must say that I'm impressed with the thing. I really wanted to shout out that it sucked but I can't, because it delivered a great 2 pass shave for me, that was comfortable and blood free. Will be using it the rest of the week to see if I can get a week out of it. The only thing I saw as a negative was the fact that it doesn't care for lather that is too thick. The first pass I had to keep going over the same spot 2-3 times to cut through. If the rest of the week goes as well as today, I've found a very good travel/back up razor.
