    Saturday's Shave:

After a busy week, it was great to slow down with a nice relaxing shower and shave.

    • Hot Shower
    • KOS Alpha Oil Menthol
    • Gem 1912
    • Walgreens Gem blade
    • RL Safari SS with M-Bomb :freezing
    • 4711 splash
    • RSC ASB + M-Bomb :anifrozen

Not sure I would call my face BBS, but is sure is darn close (I'd call it DFS+)! Only about my 3rd or 4th shave with a SE, but beginning to see why they get the love they do. Not thinking about hanging up my DE's just yet, but might have to add a SE to the weekly rotation.

With the near 100 degrees temps this week, good timing on getting some M-Bomb in the mix as well, great stuff.

I'm enjoying the str8 shaves. Didn't think I could or would, but they're fun.

    • Hot shower
    • TSD Iced Watermelon Sorbet :love008 :love008 :freezing
    • HJM badger
    • Mühle R89
    • Gillette 7 O'clock SharpEdge (1)
    • Alverde aftershave fluid

Changed blades and what a difference. Much much better (and milder!) shave, compared to Gillette Platinum in this razor. Loving the iced watermelon sorbet.

    Sat 23 July

    Black Italian Roast Coffee
    Brush; Berkley 46-face lather
Razor; Gillette Slim (7) w/ Lord Platinum (D3)
Soap; Proraso white with 4 drops of M-Bomb
    Osage rub splash
    Proraso balm

I haven't used the proraso white in awhile and I wasn't disapointed. I love this stuff, the smell is classic.
Another DFS in a string of DFS's.
This has been a good week for shaving.
Hope everyone has enjoyed themselves as much.

    Happy Saturday From Florida!

    Hot Shower
    RAB Scuttle
    P.C. Special Re-Knot
    TSD Monkey Farts Wheat Cream
    Lord Premium L-6
    Voskhod Blade (1)
    Cold Water Rag
    TSD Monkey Farts A/S

    4 Passes = DFS!

This is the first shave with the Traveling L-6 and I thank Bill very much for the opportunity to participate in the field trials.

I will shave with it a couple more times and turn it over to BG for her evaluation.

My first impression of the L-6 is that it is a lightweight copy of the Merkur 23C that I got in a trade awhile back with Williams Warrior / Keith. The razor while lightweight aluminium is well engineered. One of the things I like most about this razor is that the head is wide enough to nearly cover all of the end tabs on the blade.

For me, there is a learning curve on this razor in terms of searching for the proper shaving angle, probably because of the long handle, which may be why my 4 pass shave is DFS instead of BBS. The good news is that I get to try again tomorrow!

Not posting here very often recently. Just when I have a shave that stands out (good or bad). Today was a great one:

Face: Fat handle Tech w/ Supermax Stainless
    Head: Fatboy w/ Crystal Persona
    Vulfix VS/5 Boar
    DR Harris Marlborough SS
    Alum
    TSD ADG Type

    Totally BBS and very enjoyable.

Did you really have your coffee black or a tainted mixture with coffee in it? ;)

My first non-mentholated shave with a cream which contains menthol - the Musgo cream lists menthol in the ingredients, but there really is no cooling sensation. I don't care, because it's so good, and the aftershave is a delight. My wife loves the scent of it, and so does my daughter. ;) :D

    • 2011 Robert Becker "Cranberry" scuttle

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: Merkur Progress XL
    Blade: Lord Platinum Class
    Brush: Vie-Long Gonzalo Boar/Horsehair
Cream: Portman Square "Collier Row" Cream/Soap
A/S: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel, TOBS No. 74 Victorian Lime Splash

I especially enjoyed the citrusy goodness of yesterday's shave, so decided to repeat it today, but with a different razor/blade combo and a different brush. The resulting shave was just as nice as yesterday's. What a refreshing way to start the day!
