Heads up on the eBay double ring

Seller listed it as an auction. I sent a message asking about cracks in the handle as I seen what appeared to be a crack. Seller replied back, yes, there is a "small fissure". Seller didn't update the listing to reflect this. Seller then ended the listing a few hours later. Then re-listed it as a BIN or Best Offer, still not mentioning the crack. So buyer beware. You can see the crack in the 4th and 9th pictures at the top of the handle. Cracks are common but they also affect the price. If it's worth to you what the seller is asking, more power to you and congrats if you get it. I just wanted to give a heads up on the crack so you're not left disappointed or fighting for a refund in the end.

Thanks for the heads up. that is one nice looking razor... However I don't have the 400 buckeroos to spend on it ahha :D. It ticks me off when sellers do that, well I was luck enough to get a good seller when i bought my new type. It was listed as a crack in the handle however no where do i see a crack or anything.

The double ring and single ring have OLD type heads? Or different ones?

Until I saw the case, I'd have thought it was replated, judging by the finish.

It's funny, but the same thing happened when I saw another razor this seller was auctioning a while back. They had something wrong in the description so I sent a message, they said thank you and that was that. No changes.

The crack is noted in the Q/A section at the end of the listing. Yes should have updated while relisting. :ashamed001. I have sold hundreds, have a 100% feedback, but still make mistakes from time to time. "I'm a simple man".

When selling items of this quality, at the price you ask, I think it is fair and reasonable to expect that you will attract interest, and perhaps bidding, from specialists who are informed, demanding and critical. Among members of these forums, accuracy and trust, perhaps to a fault, are essential.

    First, welcome to TSD Stan.

I should note that at the time of my posting, there wasn't anything in the Q/A section.

For transparency, I think I may have bought once from you before and had no problems - a mint NOS Goodwill in the original box. I just wanted fellow collector's to be aware of the condition of this double ring. As Godan noted, and I'll add especially in this economy, people should know what they are spending that kind of coin on. If they choose to still spend it, more power to 'em and congrats as they felt it was worth it to them. Some collectors I know will only buy the best and some don't mind a flaw or two. We do expect serious and known sellers of razors, such as yourself, cedarfurnitureman, glasgowgoodies, shavemaster1, etc. to know your product and describe them accurately and fully, especially after being asked about it and relisting an item. As you can see by this thread, the community is having a problem with scammers right now and we do our best to keep each other informed, especially here at TSD where we're more like a big extended family than a wet shaving how-to clearinghouse like other forums. So thanks for coming by and for weighing in. I know I appreciate it. I'm sure others do too.

Stan post a picture of the flaws. As a collector I want to be sure of what I may spend serious coin on. The last thing a collector and seller wants is an ebay dispute over a significant investment. I'm sure your double ring will get lots of attention, but with out detailed pictures of the crack a serious collector may not consider your razor.
