Found this site searching for a review on the MERKUR HD. I am new to the safety razor shave. Long time electric and 3 blade systems. I get in grown hairs and hate it! Hoping to find a combination of technique and hardware that will help me avoid them. K

Welcome from another Michigander!! (tri-cities area). Not sue where you live, but if you are nearby you should take a spin over to the Art of Shaving Store at Sommerset Shops in Troy. Their hardware is vastly overpriced, but their shaving cream, shaving soap, and aftershave balm are considered to be top notch (I have only used their shaving cream, which is stellar).
