Saturday, July 30th 2011 Razor: D.R. Harris Chatsworth Blade: Voskhod Brush: Shavemac D01 Horn Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Cream: Italian Palmolive with Menthol A/S: Floris Santal After all of the chatter about the Voskhod blades, I had to try one for myself. It seems like a fairly forgiving blade and is comparable to a Shark blade in terms of sharpness.
Saturday! Warm Shower Green Marvy Mug Green Ever-Ready horse reknot Uber-Mentholated Frankensoap Traveling Lord L6 razor Super Max Super Platinum (2) Cool Water Rinse Hyatt Portico Citrus & Lavender Body Lotion This was my second shave with the traveling Lord L6. I had intended to get in more than two before sending it on it's way but the first shave was so close I didn't have to shave for two days after! That folks is a major compliment for this razor's performance. The same blade (which is one of my favorites) in a different razor didn't perform near as good as it did in the Lord. Generally speaking I can go a day between shaves, then the stubble doesn't feel so good rubbing on my nylons. I am seriously thinking of adding one to my collection ... I wish I had more time to try it out with a couple of my other favorites (Voskhod and Gillette 7 OC Blacks). Well, off to the store to pick up a couple items for my trip and then packing ... Yay?!? Have a great day everyone!
Jeff - Frankensoap is just a mixture of whatever soap you have around all mixed together. Just think of Frankenstein where the monster was created of parts from numerous different sources. It is a good way to use up slivers of different products.

Yalp. I was trying to make Vander Williams, I ended up with one Williams, two VDH, half a puck of Tabac, and that one Russian "Soap For Shaving" square, mixed with about four tablespoons of menthol crystals.

Sunday, July 31, 2011 Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: EJ Chatsworth Blade: Rapira Swedish SuperSteel Brush: Vie-Long Gonzalo Horse/Boar Soap: Klar Kabinett A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Alt Innsbruck Splash The humble Vie-Long Gonzalo continues to amaze me. It is still breaking in, but whips up large quantities of great lather. It holds a lot of lather, and the best part is that it easily releases the lather to do its job on the whiskers. I really enjoy using it--I soak it in a cup of warm water while I'm in the shower and it's ready to go. Today's shave was great and the Alt Innsbruck provided a fine, cooling finish.
