Got too busy to post yesterday, so here's the SE weekend :happy069: all wrapped up into one post

    Saturday
Prep: Hot shower, TSD ISZ PSB (used a per the label, as I said, too busy yesterday - apply small amount to wet face, allow to sit for several minutes, wash off with soap)
    Coffee: BJ's Kenya AA, BLACK
Soap: TSD Coffee + 3 drops M Bomb
    Brush: Ever Ready 250PB
Str8: W H Morley Clover Brand honed up by the owner of the barbershop I go to, 1 pass - 1 pass too many*
Str8: J R Torrey honed up by Glen, 2 passes
Razor: Schick Injector E Model, touch up
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, RazoRock rub down, Curve
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

    Shave Rating: 3 Blades

Although Sal (the barber shop owner) was very kind to hone my razor for free, I'll keep sending my blades to Glen. *Sal just didn't get the blade as sharp as what Glen has done for me. That first pass was very rough and almost did nothing at knocking the whiskers down. I did draw blood, though, with the Torrey. A momentary lapse of concentration.

    Sunday
Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower
    Coffee: BJ's Kenya AA, BLACK
Soap: Muhle Sandalwood + 3 drops M Bomb
    Brush: H. Stern Co. 10006
    Razor: Schick Injector E Model
    Blade: ???, day 1, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Dickenson's WH + 2 drops M Bomb
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

    Shave Rating: 4 Blades

A much better shave today. Still kinda bummed that the scent of the soap is masked when ever I use the M Bomb. Oh, well. I did enjoy the cold!

The Kenya AA from BJs is very good, as well. I buy it whole bean and grind enough for a few days. I'm planning on buying more green beans to roast when we get back from our trip to Maine.

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/7 AM day 2
    Derbylux SC :love055::love055::Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily:
    Svoboda AS Balsam :love055::love055::Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily:

This was a very nice soothing and cooling shave this morning. The Derbylux cream which I've been talking about has so much rich lather, and the scent is gorgeous - a very classy men's cologne type, with hints of menthol. The cooling effect is very light during the 1st pass, but by the 2nd pass, it really intensifies. The Svoboda balsam is a wonderful face-freezer, which makes the skin also feel like it's born again. ;)

    Sundays Shave Aug 7, 2011

    • Hot Shower: DeNaissance Royale Shower Gel /Body Wash
    • Lather: Omega Cream Soap Tub
    • Brush: Rooney 1 , 2
    • Scuttle: Yes, R.Becker
    • Razor : 62' Gillette Slim Adjustable (6)(5)
    • Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (8)
    • Aftershave : Aloe Gel/ Moisturizing Balm
    • Alum Block : Yes, Osma
    • Cologne : DeNaissance Royale

I changed my routine today why, just experimenting. Saw the shaving video where the barber used and appiled a shave cream after a hot towel treatment. Then, more shave cream, then lather with soap on top of that. It went Ok, not what I thought it would be. Maybe it works better for a really heavy beard, but I'm not that hairy, so an uberlather in the scuttle or just a good soap will do the trick for me. Caused some irration, don't know if it was #8 on the blades are what. I did get a 4 blade rating shave, maybe 3 1/2. Enjoy the week ahead!

    • Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade
    • Lather: C.O. Bigelow, glycerin
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
    • Razor: Gem Featherweight
    • Blade: Walgreen's Gem (7), 3 passes
    • Post: WH + alum splash, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade
    • a completely cold water shave
What a wonderful thing to start shaving with the goal of a CCS & end up with a DFS! everything about today's shave was designed to be as comfortable as possible as I'm still healing from some bad razor burn in a couple spots. I wasn't expecting this close of a shave with the Featherweight so I'm quite impressed. No irritation, not even on the "burn spots"! Not a single weeper either. Just what I needed this Sunday morning before church.

    Saturday's Shave:

Skipped, just cuz I was lazy.

    Sunday's Shave:

Seems that if I ever skip a day, the next shave is great! Today's was so good it makes me want to skip tomorrow so I can have another on Tuesday.

    Awesome, fantastic shave! DFS+

If I keep getting results like this out of the Gem, it might start to get added in for a few weekday days as well. I just like my DE's too much, but I think I get better results out of the SE.

Very nice Sunday shave with my favorite set up

    TSD preshave balm ( :love055: :))
    8/8 W&B restored by Glen ( :love055: :))
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Painted ceramic bowl
    Tabac SC ( :love055: :))
Mayor Platinum Energy splash ( :Animatedfrozensmily: )

    DFS+!

Got a bottle of splash by gift. It is nice and mentholized with fresh and non-offensive scent. Gonna test it for a couple more time to see if if I still like it...

    Menthol Sunday!!

    Hot Shower
    Green Marvy Mug
    Omega Pro Boar
    TRSC Menthol SC
    Lady Gillette Stars - Pink
    Gillette Bleue Extra (1)
    Cool Water Rinse
    TRSC Moisturizing ASB

Decided to have a Menthol Sunday rather than a Menthol Monday. :p

This was my first shave with this type of blade and it was fantastic. No tugging, dragging, or unnecessary sharpness. It was a very comfortable blade to use. Since Jeff loaded my blade stash for this trip, he's probably going to tell me that this was the last of those blades!

Now, if only the cream had been just a wee bit colder ... ;)

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

    TSD aftershave milk, unscented

Very smooth, BBS shave. I had used up the last of my favorite TSD unscented soap a few days ago (you know what it's like trying to get a lather when there is nothing but a little ring of soap around the bottom of the container). Happily, my new shipment of JoAnna's soap arrived Thursday night, so today I whipped up a big lather and enjoyed it!

I got it a couple weeks ago from Shoebox, typical great Omega knot. Good brush to face lather, but I can't imagine it in a bowl.
