As some of you noticed, we were offline for a few hours this afternoon. There was a major power outage at the location of our server in Dallas. The datacenter there is a state of the art facility, and is equipped with backup diesel generators, but due to the simultaneous failure of an ATS, backup power was not available. Obviously i'm upset that it took so long to get things back online, but for years they've provided us outstanding service, with outages only lasting a couple minutes at most. I feel they've earned a pass this time.
No harm, no foul. Life happens. I'm just glad it wasn't for any longer than it was. Thanks for the info, Sparky.
Me too. When I saw it I crossed my fingers that the transition monster didn't finally catch us. Doing a fine job Sparky. Glad things are back in order and I must say that the year+ I've been on here I've never noticed at all.
That was not bad. Spilling beer on the server would have been much worse. Hey, I really like the default font type and size as I type. Very easy on my eyes
Well, at 110 degrees where I work between Dallas and Fort Worth, for weeks on end, we are lucky not to have any more serious power issues along with all the stress caused to all of our systems. We have had some blackouts and brownouts due to this weather so server outages and backup issues don't surprise me. Enjoy the fact that you are not in Dallas during the Oven season. We wait patiently for our 7 days of fall, followed by 90 days of crazy and unpredictable (oven to winter storm since these days are not contiguous), 7 days of spring, then oven for the remainder.
It is... just down the rabit hole and your there. Thanks for the update. Wasn't to long of a outage so no harm no foul as stated above.
