I like Proraso and TOBS creams and I'd like to know how does the shaving cream from the Body Shop compare to the two?
TBS Maca Root cream is a worthy contender to any cream out there. It has no menthol, but plenty of slippery, cushioning glide that IMO is world class. Great scent too. It out performs C.O. Bigalow / Poraso in my den and is equal to TOBS.
I would also give it rather high ratings, it seems to be very conditioning to my face... I liked their original formula lighter scent a smidge better, but the Maca Root is growing on me
Can't compare 'em because I've never tried TOBS cream. I will give TBS Maca Root two thumbs up, though. Great move, Jeff!
I can compare the 2 brands, and I liked TOBS very much. I no longer use it, but I tried Body Shop Original was fantastic except for the scent, and Maca Root to me is not that great at all.
I've never seen the shave cream in the Body Shop branch near me.... I guess I'll have to look further afield.
if you can find a TBS store that carries it, just ask for some samples. they gave me 5 little sample jars one day for me to take back for everyone in the office. TBS is fantastic for samples and returns if you don't like it.
Steve! I have / had your addy somewhere around here. Since you are sending the Derrell Traveling Kriss Kross to me soon I am sure to capture your addy again. Either / Or, I will send you some TOBS Avocado once I get your addy!
I found this cream to be pretty much on par with TOBS. It's also made by the same people if I remember correctly.
I love this cream. But many people hate the smell. This one is like New York City - you love it or hate it. Nothing in the middle.
The original had a very nice sandalwood scent. The Maca Root smells like.........I don't know. I'd have to get up and go smell it, but it isn't as nice as the original. I'd say it's worth having if you can get it locally or during one of TBS's online sales.
Not a big fan of the smell but it doesn't make me wretch, I can live with it. It's slick and cushioning, does everything a shave cream should do very, very well. It leaves your skin moisturized, for me a little too much as I have oily skin.
I used the Maca Root for the first time a couple of days ago and was tremendously impressed with the cushioning effect and with how well my face felt afterward. And, I got a great shave.
TBS maca root is easily in my top 3 for creams or soaps. It's definitely right up there with the luxury creams (I guess it is one), lathers phenomenally, offers great protection and to me smells quite good. Definitely worth the $16, they also have a smaller tube for $8 that's still a sizeable amount - maybe 150ml not sure. Anyway I highly recommend it.
It is good stuff and I haven't used mine in a long while. I will have to rectify that mistake. It smells like dryer sheets to me, not the best, but certainly not the worst out there.
