Don't forget about Omega Cream. 150ml tube for around $6.95, and maybe even cheaper in some places.

They say it is manufactured by Proraso for Omega, how would it compare to the plastic bowl Proraso soap, both green and white version

It is very similar. The one main difference is that the Omega tube cream (and the Omega Bowl Soap) contain lanolin, while Proraso Green Bowl does not. I've never tried the Prosaso white bowl product.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, every time I shave with the Proraso White bowl soap, my skin feels like it is born again. So nice in the scent, so much rich lather, and a nice cooling effect, though it is somewhat less cooling then the Proraso Green stuff.

It is so nice a soap. I wonder if ever they'll make a tube cream version like the Green.

Derby shave creams are very reasonably priced and work very well.

Well, my Godrej Menthol Mist came to my rescue tonight. I've been out of town on business for ovver a week, with about two remaining. I thought I could use hotel cups to lather with, but they're either skinny glass ones or styrofoam. I know, some of you could lather lard into great lather with a thimble and 2 pieces of straw, but I'm a newbie.
So, I grab the Lavanda, decided to use the styrofoam "mug" and went to work with the Vie Long horsey, and....no joy
I head to the kitchenette and scrounge around and decided to use a cereal bowl..lol. I put more Lavanda in that, with the existing lather on the brush, and....no joy.
By now, I am cranky, half shaven and about to *gasssp*, grab the electric. I notice my Godrej sitting on the counter, figure "WTH", and clean out the newfound cereal mug, and go to it. Perfecto...catastrophe averted.
Now, I know, it is the bad musician who blames their instrument. But....that's how I roll.
Now if I could get my Xoom to play nice with the new board here, I'd be, well, less cranky.

I've read some unfavorable reviews of TJ's cream(s). All I've seen is their mango version lately and haven't had the desire to try it...yet. I'll throw in another enthusiastic thumbs-up for Real Shaving Co's cream. Luxurious stuff, that. The tube of Godrej lime I have has earned many repeat performances, as well as the newest member of my el-cheapo-creams line-up: Ziva Herbal Shaving Cream. I'm putting this cream on the map, dammit! The world must know!!!

Got nothing original to add here, just echoing the love for Godrej Menthol Mist and C.O. Bigelow

Dalan D'man and RSC take honorable mention

Also, anyone mention Ingrams yet? Great inexpensive cream with a real nice menthol kick

I guess you could compare it to the Alba stuff they sell @ Whole foods, except it's half the price (it could possibly be made by Alba for TJ's since the packaging is so similar). It goes on kind of clear and does not lather up. It has a very strong mango smell at first but it fades rapidly and it takes a good rinsing to get it completely gone (from face and razor) - kind of similar to Cremo in that regard. I like it. It lubricates well and leaves my face feeling moisturized and nourished. After my Walmart Witch Hazel goes on I feel ready to whip my weight in Bob Cats! Try it. It will only set you back about 3.25 USD. Good luck.
