The soaps I'm getting are Queen Charlotte and Mama Bear, which are 4 and 5 ounces. Where are you getting 8.8oz bars? I'm open to any suggestions, but I'm looking to keep the price below 4-5 bucks a bar.
i switched from body wash to bar soap also (i like yardley oatmeal and almond) and love it. my skin doesn't dry out like it used to.
Several companies make 8+ ounce bars. As stated before, I like Pre De Provence, but you'll find several others. The most widely available way to buy them locally are the organic/hippy food stores like Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, etc. They don't usually carry Pre De Provence, but have two or three varieties in most stores. Most of these bars are really hard french milled soaps, so the last for an extremely long time (if I'm using one just for myself they last 5-6 months). You won't find them for 4-5 dollars, they're typically $6-8, but in terms of cost per month they're not expensive at all. FYI, South of France is the most commonly available near me, but is IMHO the bottom end of these soaps. Not a bad soap at all mind you, just not quite as nice as the others. The Whole Foods store brand is nearly as nice as PDP and if you can't easily find PDP locally the way I'd recommend trying first.
If you have dry skin, I would suggest buying only one bar of speik to start off with. I found the soap to be far too drying on my skin, causing a lot of flaking and itching on my legs.
Good to know. It makes my face feel really nice but legs are considerably less oily than faces. Thanks for the heads up Brian.
Yes, for the face I love it.. and I find it fine for the rest of my body as long as it's not every day.
Yardley bar soaps are awesome. You can get them at Walmart, Walgreens, and Dollar General. I'm also very fond of Mysore Sandal soap from Indian Food Markets. Very strong sandalwood scent. All the above are about $1 per bar.
