    Vintage slant/Red Personna#6

    Saturday AM shave:

    SimpsonSpecial Best Badger
    Vitos soft soap
    Ever-ready '25/14 razor w/ GEM SS ptfe blade (7 and retired) ('25/14 means cataloged in '25 but has an old '14 head)
    Handcrafted menthol AS

    The razor only:
    [IMG]

    I absolutely can't believe how good these SE blades are! Sometime I'm going to take one to the precipice and find out just how many shaves I can get with one. This 7th shave was every bit as good as the first. An easy BBS. I love this razor also. Not quite AS AGGRESSIVE AS MY BELOVED ocmm (hit caps lock again- sorry- the wifes laptop w/tiny keyboard), but I like it a lot none the less.

    The night was our first cold one so when I got up I built a fire in the woodstove for some living space heat. That means I have a place to boil water as a byproduct of the space heat. I didn't waste the opportunity and I put the full kettle on the stove to boil. After breakfast I raised the temp of the wash basin to steaming (in our dry climate) and did the full hot towel face soak and face lather prep. Absolute shave nirvana! Some things I dislike about our long and cold Maine winters, but the woodstove and the "free" hot water for the hot towel face prep aren't among them.

    Have a great day, Gentlemen.

    As a note this razor has some historical value. It was originally from the Judge Henry T. Lummus collection. It is engraved on the scales with the Lummus mysterious numbering and dot system. (kind of neat, as Lummus was an early author on collecting sheffield steel). I was lucky enough to win a few straights from the Robert Doyle auction. Every time I use this str8, I enjoy the history, it has passed through the hands of Lummus , and Doyle. Now it rests safely in my humble collection. Ain't collecting neat.

    Sunday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/new Astor
    Tabac Shaving Stick :love029::love029::love029::love029:
    Keri unscented moisturizer
    Tabac AS :love029::love029::love029::love029:

    I cannot say enough good things about the Tabac shaving line - the stick has such beautiful lather, and it gives great skincare during and after a shave. The aftershave has that classic Tabac scent which I love so much, and even my wife is finally starting to like it. The Astor blades however, are not really my favorite. I'll see if I can use this one for the whole week. Today's shave was good and very smooth, but it seemed a bit harsh, especially during the 1st pass. ;) :biggrin:

    Made Lather with JM Polar ice for the second time, except this time I lightly coated my face and brushed it in. Had enough lather for three passes+touchups. It is a mild menthol, exactly what I was looking for right now. I lathered up, covered my face with a hot towel, and waited three minutes-was told my grandfather did this when he had time. The Fraser worked greaat as a preshave this way. I was liquefied.

    I also changed blades today and used my first Personna Platinum. I loved it and it did a very nice job on my face. I was going to give the face off having shaved late yesterday but I still left a ton of hair in the sink. What a blade, very predictable.

    JM Fraser Polar Ice
    eBarber badger brush
    EJagger DE 89
    Personnna Platinum
    Hot towel start (see above), cold towel rinse
    EBC (ebarbershop) Almond Shave Balm
    Lilac Vegetal AS
    Caswell Massey Jockey Club Talc

    This was DE shave #7 in a row and the best shave of my life!!!
