Sunday 18 September This was an afternoon shave, but I didn't have time to post earlier. Proraso preshave balm TSD Blue Juniper soap in stick form, with 2 drops of M-Bomb Gillette TTO Lord Platinum (D3) Alcolado Glacial-Anherb conditioner I had an afternoon shower and shave, took my time, and man did I ever have a great shave. This was almost BBS, and I have a baby's bottom for comparison. This might have been the best shave I have ever had up to this point. It was close, it was comfortable, and it was extremely enjoyable. I'm not sure the blue juniper scent is what I prefer, but man is that some awesome soap, just love it. I will have to post pictures of this razor, its belonged to my stepfather, its a real beaten up gold TTO gillette, that has US patent numbers on the bottom of the head. I don't know what kind or what date range, but it gives me some great shave's. Hope everyone had a great weekend, I worked most of it.
AM shave, got busy, couldn't post until now. Simpson Special Pure Badger Williams face lathered Slim set to 9 Astra test blade (1st shave) Handcrafted menthol moisturizing AS I intend to test this blade as I would any other for my records, but already it's not a favorite blade. It gave a close enough shave, but too many weepers (one is too many) and it wasn't a comfortable shave for me. I suspect it was sharp enough, but I don't know what quality it's missing that makes it not good for me. FWIW, I love Feathers, so I doubt it's "too sharp" for me.
Different razor may require different blades. The great thing about the Slim is you can adjust it to make it a "different" razor. Try dialing it down a bit before you trash the Astras.
