A late filing of an early shave.

I applied a light coating of Frasers and a hot towel and relaxed for three minutes massaging my face.

I then went through three passes using fraser's Polar Ice and eBarber Badger Brush. My DE89 again had a Red Pack Personna inside.

A couple of touch ups and I hit another DFS.Some eBarber Almond Balm, followed by a mix of Aqua Velva and Caswell Massey Talc, and I was a smooooooooooth operator, cue the Sade-:bounce017:

As soon as the methols arrive, I will be one Cool Cat:cool:

    Tuesday Evenings Shave

I'm all out of my TSD preshave balm sample and out money in my shave budget for the time being. So I'll just have to wait to get more of that wonderful, wonderful stuff. :angry017:

    Lord L6 Razor
Astra Superior Platinum Blade, day 1
    Frank Shaving Best Badger Brush
    Tabac Shave soap
    TSD Alum Block
Ogallala Bay Rum Lime and Peppercorns

It was still a DFS today. I wanted to try a badger brush for not a lot of money so I went with the best. Washed it out with Williams a few times to try and get the stink out. Gave up, and had to shave with a brush that smelled likes Skeeter-be-gone on the back end of a wet badger. Either way, the brush performed well. A lot easier to get a lather than with the VDH Boar or the Eterna Pure Bristle. It was still plenty stiff enough for me (which was my main concern) without being abrasive.

All in all an excellent shave.

I don't ever recall any of my badger brushes having much of a scent, even when new. Boar, on the other hand... :sick007:

I'm thinking I don't really dig this razor/blade combo. I'm not getting chewed up but it sure isn't as pleasurable as it should be. Gonna try a new blade in the Rocket and see how that goes.

    3.5/5 blades.

No Coffee this morning, pick some up on the way to the jobsite.

    Proraso preshave balm
Gillette Milord, Rapira Platinum Lux (D3)
    Omega travel boar, face lather
Mama Bear's Awakenings Stick (last use for this, finished another one off)
Alcolado Glacial-Nivea Post Shave Balm sensative

This was a very good shave, very smooth and chilly. I got a little irritation on the neck this morning, but I'm pretty sure its my fault, too aggresive on that patch. All in All DFS.

Fan.Dam.Tastic! I usually only go for a three-pass shave, but this new scent drove me to grab another pass! JoAnna knocked it out of the park with this Sea Buckthorn scent! The scent is absolutely is mouth-watering! I am going to have to order the cream, milk and splash to go along with this stuff!

    Have a great day Ya'll!

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
    Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
Soap or Cream: Valobra Soft Soap (Almond)
    A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Alpa 378 Splash

A fine shave this morning with my favorite razor! The sound of the Futur effortlessly mowing down stubble is music to my ears. Of course, a good blade helps, too, but even a so-so blade becomes pretty good in the Futur.

    Rotbart Monde/7 o'clock Blue/Arko stick in a mug/Turkish HH#5/Arko ASB

This Rotbart shaves really nice, This is my second day using it and man am I ever impressed. But it's new to me. So right now it rates high on my d/e list. Any new razor that I get, that happens to shave well becomes my favorite flavor of the month. So time will tell if it will hold a top spot in the rotation. Went cheap school on the products today. We all know Arko soap rules, but the ASB IMHO is OK at best. It's not a favorite of mine, but it will do, and you can't beat the price. Now, the Turkish HH#5 reminds me of the vie-long banded horsehair, it's very soft,,,,,,, but the knot is not as dense. It took a while of occasional use to break in but it's a good 5 dollar brush. I'm as smooth as a salamanders belly. Here's to ya brother.

    Have a great day, Gentlemen.

    • Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade
    • Lather: TSD ISZ Wheat Cream; Distilled Water, Face Lather
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Finest
    • Razor: Gem Featherweight
    • Blade: Ted Pella SS PTFE (4)
    • Post: Alum block, WH, hand strop blade
It is officially my water that is the evil genius mastermind of all of my lathering woes! I used some distilled water this morning and was able to build a nice lather on my face without much effort or time. Seriously, hard water STINKS!

Awesome! I was wondering who got the other one. I am trying to convince myself to use mine too, I did take it out of the paper last night. I am wondering what the story is with the darker color on the TTO knob. I thought maybe it was silver plated and tarnished, but it doesn't look like that is the case.

I have hard water, I find that I must use more product to get a good lather. To me that's a big advantage, as more product means I can justify buying more creams and soaps. It's a win win situation for me.

55’ Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
    Feather (d3)
    Preshave Oil Blend
    Renaissance Man Bay Rum SS
    Vulfix 404 Grosvenor Badger/Boar
    Master Blue

A little rough in the neck, otherwise a good, tight shave. I think Feathers coupled with a Red Tip might be a bit too aggressive for me. I wanted to retest this, and now I know, at least for now.

A great shave, but unfortunately the Comme il Faut cream irritates my skin and leaves it feeling uncomfortable. Luckily for me, the Arko Commando soothed the irritation and cooled the burning immediately. ;)

It shaves nice. I snagged the Rotbart tech clone also. They are both impressive shavers. With all the minty razor in your SOTD's, I'm sure you'll work it into your rotation.

This one smelled pretty funky to me, and the Williams just accentuated it rather than covered it up.
