You have found the right place! Welcome, and enjoy this wonderful forum. I am new to this too, only about a month in after getting started for the same reason as you, but even with my limited wet shaving experience I can say without reservation that you have made a great decision.
Well I took the plunge and bought a razor, brush and soap yesterday and low and behold it was on my porch this afternoon. Well I thought I would wait til the AM to give it a try but I couldn't wait. So I just got done and I didn't have to go to the blood bank afterwards. All I can say is why didn't I do this years ago and save a ton of money. Best shave I had since I was straight razored at a barber years, eons, ago. But that lather thing Thats' going to take some work. 5 minutes and only a little tiny bit of fluff. Back to the tutorials!!.
Sounds like you are off to a great start, and you have the right attitude to keep going! What shave gear did you purchase?
Niiiiiiice! And it only gets better. Can I talk you into posting some pics of your new gear over on The Haul?
Merkur Futur and silver bager brush, A cream soap in sandlewood and a cake soap in lime. For some reason I can never post pictures on the web with a MAC.
I'm not really a new shaver, but I will admit that I am fed up with bad shaves. I switched a while back to wet shaving but still have a lot to learn. Thanks all for welcoming a new guy to the site!
