Hi Guys Awhile ago I won a Richwood set on the 'bay. It was described as having the original "factory black finish". I figured it's just tarnish and we s/b good to go. When it arrived the case was in pieces, obviously didn't travel well. The razor was as I thought, just tarnished. It cleaned up ok but the plating was really worn off in a few places. I like the razor so I sent it out to be chromed. The Harleys' got a lot of chrome and I thought a nice, tough, durable finish would serve the razor well. Well the guys at Alberta Plating did a superb job, I put the box back together and voila. PS. The seller did refund me 1/3 of the purchase price when I showed him pics of how the set arrived.
AAAAAHHHH!! MY EYES!!! I CAN'T SEE!!! THAT THING BLINDED ME!! AAAHHHHH!!!! Really, a beautiful piece there, Huck. Love the chrome.
Man - that came out nice! Some collectors prefer not to re-plate these vintage razors, but I've had a couple of 'em re-plated with excellent results. I'm not a collector (though my wife may say otherwise) I shave with all my razors.
Huck! That is beautiful! I have never seen a chrome replating before. It is also good to know there is a replating service close to home! That razor is incredible...it really is!
Great job with the box and the replate. I remember this razor as I was actually bidding against you on it....I am glad you won it because I don't believe that it would be in that shape now if it was mine. Kudos
Thanx guys I didn't know how much I was going to like it, but when it showed up I was completely happy with the result.
