Great Hauls Ya'll!

Today I received from Gary at Shoebox, 96 razors to drop into the Newbie Give Away. That is EIGHT YEARS worth of razors for the NGA thread!

Yay Me! Yay TSD! Yay Newbies!

There are only 90 pictured, and I am grabbing one for me too. The Tycoon razor in the red box is the same razor that Jody took the handle from for his R-41 and I am following suit. But rest assured, I am down for the next EIGHT YEARS as providing a DE razor for the monthly NGA thread!

 

Amazing haul and gesture Jeff. I just ordered a tube of Palmolive Classic shave cream this afternoon, as I've been wanting to try this stuff for awhile now and decided to pull the trigger. It should be here by Saturday.

Found a very nice rhodium plated #16 Aristocrat -- that heavy duty beauty that looks like a #66 but is hefty like the Jr. and shaves like a dream. One of the best of the British Aristocrats!



Notice the solid plate under the head -- providing the added weight to this shaver.



Rarely seen and really appreciated.

 

I have the Lider SC. It is pretty good cream! I tend to take it with me while I travel because it's the smallest tube I have and offers a great lather!

You have to be careful what you say around here because some kind folks will treat you like royalty. Upon the recommendation of Nick (wknicholas) I purchased an old Schick Injector Razor, but I did not have any blades. So, Nick said I will send you some to try. As you can see from the picture below, I got a lot more than just the injector blades. Then I had a conversation with Dale (PanChango) about the Klar Kabinett soap and he said I will try to get a sample to you. As you can see from the picture below, that amount of soap will last for quite some time.

I got my Jody goodies today!

A Palmolive shave stick, a puck of the new VDH unscented SS, a tube of the Dalan D'men moisture SC, and 2 packs of Voshkods! Not too bad for a wild guess on a college football game. Thanks Jody, yoda man! (see what I did there? )

 

I didn't send the pizza though.

It's Official!

I had these items on 'loan' from my bro-in-law, and today when I tried to give them back he flat out gave them to me.
So here are the new additions to my den:
-Black-handled Superspeed
-Slim Adjustable
-TGQ Bay & Sweet Orange Soap
-Lider SC (both classic and active)
-Omega Boar (pro?)
-Pack of Feathers and Derby

I am very happy to include these razors to my collection. I love the black handled gillette. I find it is better for me than the red or blue-tipped superspeeds. I don't know about the soap, it smells a bit strong, but I'll see what happens to it. I am happy to have another boar in the rotation! The loft is crazy but it isn't as floppy as I thought it would be. These shave creams are great! have had a tube of both before, but I broke the cap on the classic, so I threw it out (didn't think I could put it in a new container at the time). So yeah! I am happy about this haul! Especially the Feathers and the razors!!

 

Firstly, I don't know who has the best haul. The supplies from Phil, the razor for Dale, that to drool for rhodium, Rodd's new goodies...and everything else from injectors to shopping.

I am completing my last order before the holidaze:

MWF-need to see what all the fuss is and have the precisely sized holder
50 Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow
50 Gillette 7 o'clock Blue
Palmolive Menthol Italian.

After going through all of the blades several times, I have settled on these two as my go to's, and every third blade will be a mystery,

My goodness that strop is tiny, but the razor is what I thought it was and the seller failed to mention that there was yellow strop paste too (although I've never found the need to own any previously). It was stated as never been used and the strop has clearly never been opened. I would say that the razor is near shave ready and a light touch up on a coticule will have it passing muster.

I have decided this will be my birthday present from my wife, she was going to give me some money towards a new strop but this will do nicely.

Oh and I nearly forgot, yesterday I got some of this stuff, lovely.

 

I know, I love them as well. I used the Bond yesterday. What a lather and nice scent!

 

I finally went and picked up that vintage Avon SS in the wooden bowl. It had a few extras that I would have either had to leave behind at the same cost or bring along, so here is the package in it's entirety. The SS, the shave brush decanter full of Wild Country, and a shave mug with "DOCTOR" and a painted caduceus on it.
