Monday, November 14th Razor: Rotbart Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Lewis & Buprows Real Ivory Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Colgate Cup Soap A/S: Vintage Yardley The Lewis & Buprows brush is made from pre-ban ivory and is about the size of a Wee Scot. Unfortunately I have misplaced my calipers but I would estimate the knot diameter at around 15mm. Despite its small size, it had no problem ginning up a fine creamy lather from the Colgate cup soap. The Rotbart and the Super Iridium teamed up to deliver a fine shave followed by a splash of vintage Yardley aftershave. Very nice indeed. The Set-up: A close-up of the Brush

The Trac II adjustable has a little more bite than the normal Trac II blades even when lowered to the low setting. I had a couple of ingrowns develop due to the speed in which I have had to shave recently. Only one more week of this schedule, then I can go back to a more normal routine and use my DEs and maybe even an injector.

I'm finding out that having used 4 different blades in the R-41, that they all seem to deliver pretty consistanly. I'm going to try with the store brand Personnas next shave with it. It'll be a few days though, I'm traveling to Connecticut and have left the R-41 and have the EJ 89l. So while Mechguy gives up his comfy hotel bathroom, I'll be moving into mine, but only for two days. Fortunately, I'm not much of a long hauler like he is.

I wanted an aftershave to compliment the gorgeous lemony scent of the Wars, so I selected the Booster Iced Lime, and they seem to go together so well. As always, the Rapira blades deliver smoothness and comfort while I'm shaving.

Tuesday: Gillette Single Ring Red Personna TGN Silvertip Martin de Candre Proraso White ASB I decided to take the Single Ring out for a spin this morning. WOW! Open combs sure feel different than closed combs. This is the first OC razor I have tried; I've used aggresive CC razors, but they never felt like this. The shave was different...I couldn't get over the combing sensation from the razor. it shaved very well, better than I thought it would. There was some slight irritation in some spots, but I did a 3-pass shave on a new razor...so it isn't unexpected. All in all, I think this guy will be more of a display item, but I won't hesitate to bring him out every now and then!
