    there's a good organic rest
there's a good organic restaurant in one of the hippie-fied sections of milwaukee. Beans and Barley at 1901 East North Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53202. There's several other unique restaurants in that area but I've only eaten at Beans and Barley.

First part of the day had me out of the office at a tech expo. It was...okay. Actually got a few things done in the one hour at the end of the day when we got back to the school.

Then, this evening, I dropped the ball on a responsibility, and when TWGW called me on it, out of nowhere, I blew up.

Just had a meltdown. Not the first in recent months. I let stuff bottle up inside and then my cork pops.

I really need to find work in an entirely different field.

It's not just you, it seems like it's the entire field. There's lots that want to do something else, but nothing else is available; some that can't do anything else; and too many that shouldn't even be in the field in the first place ("the field" in general, not specifically ours roles)

Life is hectic as all get out right now. Long days, full schedules, tons of activities going on....how I'd long for the days when you got home, were able to do some things around the house, and then spend quality time with family and friends, no pressing agendas, no one-thing-after-the-other schedules....just time.

It's almost like the constancy of 'things' going on is a deliberate, calculated, slowly and carefully implemented plan to make all of our lives so busy that we're too absorbed in the gotta-do of life that we fail to develop genuine bonds with family and friends, making it easier to dissolve families, communities, and ultimately a nation.....hmmmm

Also, why is it that a simple, routine install will invariably lead to the discovery of weeks old problems that can't be addressed quickly?

Because that is the nature of the beast.

Got my a&$-chewing yesterday. It's been looking like all the backups have been running fine...date's are correct, file sizes correct, everything looks normal.
Had to restore a file last week, found one of the local backups (ext. hard drive on server) was creating unusable backups, at least for the file I needed and 2 other random files I tried to restore. Had to go to the district NAS backup device to restore...fortunately it was good.
So I decided to check all the other backups, all but one other was fine...the new admin server......
Fortunately, the district and off-site backups were fine, but I don't have full backups going to those (yet).

    NICE!
How do you round numbers? anything 0.5+ you round up? Anything lower you round down? Is this not a standard? Why do people round numbers any way they choose!!! I can understand statistical rounding, but to apply it partially to finance? It drives people (me) crazy!!.....sigh.....:scared011:

Last week a lady in Newfoundland turned 106 years old. When asked how she did it she replied (in my words) "Genetics! Eating healthy is a load of rubbish!" Her diet consists of Pop, Candy, "salted beef" (whatever that is), and pretty mush anyhing else unhealthy you can think of. She determined that she was going to eat what she likes, so she can enjoy it!

Just found out I'm going to need to be at the plant (1-1/2 hrs away) at 7:00am tomorrow to work a short shift before going to the airport (another 45 min) and flying to Milwaukee where I'll do some more work. It will only be about a 15 hour day on a short night's sleep. BGDAAAA!

Well, I'm just checking in. Like I've said before, internet here has been really spotty and I haven't had the time to get it taken care of. Everything has been going good. Rediscovering church and bible study has really helped me keep my spirits up through this whole divorce ordeal. All in all, I'm doing great, and I look forward to a day when it is actually easy to get on the internet again.
