Saturday JM Schmid & Son 6/8 Men-U Boar Brush Institue Karite Booster Mosswood Polo EDT This was the first time I've used the JM Schmid in a few weeks. I had decided to re-finish the blade somewhat using sandpaper and I'm rather pleased with the results. It wasn't a full restore, but more like a reconditioning. After finishing on Thursday, I re-honed it last night and shaved with it this morning! Great shave and the Booster Mosswood and Polo complement each other nicely. Before: After:
Friday - a very hectic day to end the work week. That's why I'm just now posting. Maybe the CD of choice was a little foreshadowing? Nah. Just a very busy day. Prep: Hot shower, soak brush CD: Luther Allison ~ Bad News is Coming Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Ethiopia Illubabor, BLACK Soap: D. R. Harris Marlborough Brush: Mohawk 3-338 Razor: Late model Gillette Super Adjustable Blade: Astra SP, day 5, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, Cool Mist, Brut Attitude Shave Rating: 5 Blades A super shave to start the day. Little did I know.... ------------------------------------------- Saturday - it's the weekend! Time for the SEs. Life is good. Used a little too much pressure, though, and wound up with slight burn, thus 4 blades. Darn near BBS, I have to say.
Saturday, December 3rd Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Personna Med Prep Brush: Thater Stout 1 Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: AOS Sandalwood A/S: Klar Sandalwood I enjoyed another excellent shave today. The AOS Sandalwood soap is a top shelf soap and produced an abundant lather that is slick and protective. The Futur and Med Prep blade left my face feeling smooth and the Klar Sandalwood aftershave was a real treat. Klar Sandalwood aftershave uses real Mysore Sandalwood essential oil and it is a great Fall/winter scent.
Saturday was the same as mon-fri except for 1 thing. WOW! The water in my sink was much hotter then usual. As a result the lather from my mug was pleasently HOT! Felt SO NICE going on the face I just stuck the mug right back in the sink while I shaved and kept it there for all 3 passes. Man now that was perfect! Note to self REMEMBER THAT. Now 1 question for the experienced pro's out there. Everybody says it take about a month to get your face used to wet shaving . Does this mean the razor, for the 1st 30 days, acts as a "wood planer" to get all the high spots "planed" smooth?
Time for you to start to consider a scuttle? You will find out why as you go through some threads on scuttles!
I have been kicking that idea around for a couple of days. Any recommendations for a good affordable entry level scuttle?
Robert Becker. He is from San Antonio and makes wonderful scuttles. http://www.robertsfeatsofclay.com/cscuttles.html Here is some pics of mine. Sorry for the blur, that was taken with my old camera. The shave caddy I also got from him.

The Vulfix and the Taylor where fast friends, the Jagger and the Yellow are like Frick and Frack, and the Prosaso pre/post are two great products in one. A little Pinaud Vanilla with some Caswell Massey Jockey Club Talc and I am smiling.
Why thank you very much. I try to put together some slight change each day. As I gain more product I look forward to being more creative. thanx.
