Pre: Hot Towel Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable/Merkur 23c Blade: Shark Super Chrome (1) Brush: Omega Boar Cream: Euro Palmolive Post: Thayers WH, More Thayers WH, Cold Rinse, Proraso ASB This evening's shave started with a hot towel, and a Shark SC in the Black Beauty. First pass was rough as all get out, so out came the 23c, and from there on, it was a better, or at least bearable shave. The lather felt fine. I don't know what it is about that Super Adjustable, but boy does it not agree with my face. I don't know if it is the blade angle, or blade itself, but every blade I have tried in there makes it feel like I tried sanding off my beard O_o
It is extremely mild. Like a Blue Tip Super Speed of the 1950s. This is a razor I recommend for beginners and those with sensitive skin. I will not say that the mechanicals are as good as a vintage Super Speed though. I bought this one simply for looks because it does take more passes to provide a close shave.

Prep: Hot water rinse; glycerin Lather: MWF - face lather Brush: Simpsons Commodore X2 Razor: Gem MMOC Blade: Pella SS PTFE coated (1); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Aqua Velva mixed w/ Aveeno lotion 1st run with the X2 and the MWF. Considering that I didn't shower before hand I'm pleased, actually quite impressed with the results. Had a small weeper just under the jaw on the left that sealed up with my cold water rinse. I did need to reload the X2 on the Fat once in-between passes as I didn't load enough and/or the brush isn't holding lather well yet and will get better with use. My first impression on the brush is very high. Same measurement as my Vulfix 2234 (22K/47L) but with much more backbone, density, and firmness. The tips aren't as soft as I was expecting from everything I've read about the current line of Simpsons Best brushes but I'm also thinking they may soften up with a few more uses. The massaging feeling on my face was great. This brush fits in quite nicely between my Frank Shaving Finest and my Vulfix 2234 Super Badgers. Oh yeah, and after just 1 use I think I'm already addicted to 'da Fat! Shave Rating - Splendid. God Bless!

Saturday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/new 7 AM Lord Emofresh SC Svoboda AS Balsam JHL Cologne I love the Lord Emofresh cream very much because it smells beautiful and gives great lather, soothing skincare, as well as a nice, although mild cooling effect. I tried lathering it in a bowl for my shave this morning and it seemed to work very well that way. The Svoboda balsam is one of my favorite aftershaves. That stuff has quite a bit of menthol in it along with allantoin, which soothes and relaxes sensitive skin like mine.
Simpson, Arko, Royall Lime, Rolls (again) Cleaned up the hone yesterday (twice a year thing), re dressed the strop (every month) and shifted to the second blade (every month). Yea, I'll bet you though shaving with a Rolls was a piece of cake. It's more like owning an MG and as much fun (in a good way).
