The new containers don't have post on them, just pre. I know, I was surprised when I opened up my new container this weekend.
Tuesday Dovo Best Quality 6/8 Men-U Boar brush Tabac shave soap Pinaud Clubman A/S I wasn't going to post today because I've been somewhat busy, but I had my first BBS shave with just a straight this morning so I just had to share!
Tuesday of cheap week. Today I went with new budget gear. Razor; Lord L6 , a great razor that only costs 11 bucks Blade; Rapira , IMHO this is the best 6 cent blade I've ever used Brush; Omega the mighty midget. A big lather from a little brush 11 bucks Soap; MWF... I know some would not consider the fat a budget soap, but at 12 dollars for a refill puck . It lasts so long, it's a great value. AS; Masters Bay rum 5.99 Even though this shave kit comes in at $40.05 . It's still a budget kit of quality products. And it easily delivers a priceless BBS shave. Have a great day gentlemen.
Good questions. When I looked "Raso" up in the English-Ital translation, it meant smooth-I scratch my head. Just repeating what the man told me as he waved a sharp blade near my carotid arteries.
Haha-not quite, but that pic really captures the way it felt to me. He also told me in Italy he'd shave about 4 clients for each haircut. As soon as he moved to the US (mid 1950's) it immediately went down to about 2 shaves/10 haircuts.
Google Translate says "razor" is "rasoio", and says "raso" is "satin". Google Translate isn't always 100% though.
New to me Kent BK12 ...thanks Johnny..MDC shave cream, Rooney DE Razor, Feather Blade..great sharp blade, NEW Becker Scuttle, Tom Ford Grey Vet...and Jingle Bells everyone...remember the songs?
Cheap Week - Tuesday Florena Shave Cream - $3.99 CAD Omega Boar Brush - $12.99 CAD Retro Personna 2 DE - $9.50 USD Aqua Velva Sport AS - #3.99 CAD 2 pass with this Personna 2 DE produced a fine shave
That razor was an interesting one when I used it. A cross between a DE and a Cartridge. They can provide very good shaves.
Wednesday's shave at the Gym Was in the mood for a very mild shave today, hence: Calani Oriental Plum shave soap stick Mühle travel shave brush in Nickel with Silver Tip Fibre Gillette Sensor Excel (new) D.R. Harris Bay Rum After Shave
The Simple Shave Today I decided to use the basics. By the time I had showered I had long forgotten that I had not used pre-shave. Today I used only what I need... Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Soap: MWF Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Dark Blue Razor: Ej89 AS: Barbers Choice Menthol I needed an extra pass and an hour later it hits me...no preshave. And I miss the comfort of a milk or a post shave. A great experiment as I forgot I was conducting it. Today's Featured Picture: EJagger DE89
Tues, Dec 20 Brush: Omega Boar Soap/Creme: Cella Razor:Gillette Old Blade: Astra SS Pre: Shower&glycerin soap wash Post: Witch hazel Hair Groom: Clubman Conditioning Shampoo Result: WOW! I will admit that putting a fresh blade in a Gillette old, doing good prep, and using boar+ Cella for lather is stacking the deck, but this was my first shave with an Astra SS. I've used and been very fond of their SP, but the only word for the Astra SS is WOW. I got nearly BBS without even trying. The Astra SS felt like it cut my whiskers better even than a feather. the Clubman seemed to do a great ob on my hair, as well. I didn't even use anything else it was so stellar.
